Dua is the essence of Ibadah because: the person making Dua to Allah realizes that he himself cannot do anything; it is Allah who can do everything. when a person makes dua to Allah he shows that the one who he is calling to is the one who can help him
Proofs for making Dua to other than Allah is Shirk Say: "I do no more than invoke my Lord, and I join not with Him any (false god)." (Quran 72:20) And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): so invoke not anyone along with Allah; (Quran 72:18) If anyone invokes, besides Allah any other god, he has no authority therefor; reckoning will be only with his Lord! And verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through! (Quran 23:117) and his

Those on whom besides Allah, ye call cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! And if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly: feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition! (Quran 22:73) If those whom you call out to other than Allah, cannot even create a fly then how can they help you?

Istiaadah is an act of worship And incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things. (Quran 41:36) if (at any time) an True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jins, but they increased them (arrogance). (Quran 72:6) in folly When Istiaadah is an act of worship, then you can only seek protection in Allah. To seek protection from other than Allah is Shirk.
Meaning of Istigatha? Istigatha or Istiaanah is seeking help from someone, for instance, a human being. New Term
Can you ask a human being to help you? Asking human being to help If you asking a human being and he has no ability to help you, then this is considered Shirk. If the human being has the ability to help, then you can ask. Natural help is allowed. Supernatural help is only allowed from Allah.
