Understanding Different Types of Production Processes
Explore the various types of production processes, including high-performance manufacturing, continuous production, intermittent production, custom production, discrete manufacturing, and process manufacturing. Learn about the differences between light and heavy assembly in manufacturing. This course, fully funded by MoSTEMWINs, provides valuable insights into the world of production techniques and manufacturing processes.

TYPES OF PRODUCTION Continuous Production Intermittent Production Custom Production Combining Techniques
TYPES OF PRODUCTION Discrete Manufacturing
Process Manufacturing Process Manufacturing Involves changing the nature of ingredients By applying heat or pressure Or by mixing Or by separating Or by chemical reaction
Discrete & Process Manufacturing Combined Most finished products are a result of both Books Automobile Discrete and Process rarely occur in the same facility
TYPES OF PRODUCTION: cont. Two main types of assembly: Light assembly describes the assembly of smaller products, such as jewelry, faucets, electric screwdrivers, telephones, computers, and automobile tires. Heavy assembly describes the assembly of larger products, including automobiles, buses, ships, and airplanes.
