Team SISD All-Star Award Program Overview
The Team SISD All-Star Award is presented each month to one male and
one female student per class who have been nominated by their school
faculty and staff.
To be selected to receive this honor, each nominee must demonstrate
outstanding character traits that make up the acronym
TEAM
.
TEAM

Remind students that when we follow the
SHINE Expectations

we are also demonstrating the outstanding character traits in:

someone who is honest and can be entrusted with
anything of importance

other people feel and how to treat them

– someone who takes responsibility for his/her own

– someone who pays full attention to something and slows

Students will work to achieve their goal of earning the Team SISD All-Star Award.

Students will be celebrated and recognized at a
Team SISD All-Star
Awards
ceremony
that takes place monthly. That’s why you’re here!
•
Students will receive a special certificate.
•
Students will have their photo posted on a special
Team SISD All-Star
Awards
bulletin
board at Lujan-Chavez ES.
•
Once every 9 weeks, one student from each school (selected from all the
Team SISD All-
Stars
for that 9 weeks) will be chosen for a special “Hall of Fame” outing with the
Superintendent.

How does the Team SISD All-Star Award work?
•
Instilling good character in children as they prepare for the real world
is a big deal in Team SISD.
•
Students are competing with themselves, not against other students.
•
Recognition is based on students achieving their own goals.
•
They are already winners just by improving themselves!

In addition, teachers will feature their All-Star students in a Twitter post!
The Team SISD All-Star Award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding character traits encompassed in the acronym TEAM (Trustworthy, Empathetic, Accountable, Mindful). Students work towards earning this honor and are celebrated monthly with a special ceremony and recognition. The focus is on personal improvement and instilling good character in students, rather than competition. Teachers also feature All-Star students on Twitter.
