  2. What is SNAP? The Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania, SNAP, is a constituent of the National Student Nurses Association, NSNA. SNAP is a student run nonprofit organization. We represent the entirety of nursing students throughout Pennsylvania who are enrolled in Associate's or Bachelor's programs.

  12. David R. Ranck LEAD Workshop The David R. Ranck LEAD Workshop every March, in Harrisburg There are a maximum of 60 participants allowed, and every school can send a maximum of six students- freshmen and sophomores are the ideal participants The purpose of the LEAD Workshop is to gain developmental skills and promote leadership growth in nursing students Come to LEAD Workshop prepared to grow in your leadership skills as a nursing student and as an individual

SNAP Convention Held every year in November The House of Delegates are comprised of nursing students from each school The House of Delegates are required to attend the three business meetings, and they vote in the Election process NCLEX Bowl, NCLEX Prep Course, workshops, awards ceremonies, resolutions and voting in the Election are all included at Convention

  14. Capitol Hill Step by Step Capitol Hill Step by Step is a great experience for nursing students to learn about the political process After learning about the political process and how it relates to the profession of nursing, you get the chance to take a tour of the Capitol Building

  15. Election Process There are two options when you choose to run for the Board: You can choose to submit your Consent to Serve prior to Convention You can also choose to run from the floor, where you will submit your Consent to Serve while at Convention. You will be nominated by someone at either the first or second business meeting You will have to give a 2-minute speech for every position, unless you run for President- who will give a 5- minute speech There will be a Meet the Candidates, where delegates at Convention will meet every candidate, prior to voting You do not need a poster board to run for election, but it is recommended! If you do get elected to the Board of Directors, you are required to attend the Post Convention Board Meeting, which is held the Saturday immediately following Convention

Nominations and Elections Committee The Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC) are also elected each year There are three members for the NEC; NEC East, NEC Central and NEC West If you are elected to the NEC one year, you cannot run for NEC the following year The purpose for the NEC is to find candidates to run for the Board of Directors the following year at State Convention
