  1. OUTGOING CORRESPONDENCE CENTER (OCC) FOR THE ENERGY PROGRAM

  2. Introduction: What is OCC? The Outgoing Correspondence Center (OCC) was created based on an OWCP initiative to establish one centralized print location. OCC will allow employees who are in a telework status to print claims related correspondence and have it mailed out for them from an established location. The original name was Energy Centralized Printing (ECP). This changed to OCC the week of August 3rdto support the OWCP concept. Longshore (LS) took the lead and established a pilot in Jacksonville for centralized printing.

  3. Introduction: The Team On April 9-10, 2015, a group of DEEOIC employees met in Washington, D.C. to develop the criteria and requirements for OCC, and based on lessons learned from the LS pilot, the team developed procedures and a training plan to implement OCC throughout the Energy district offices and FAB. National Office: Shantoyia Adewunmi (BAS), Rhonda Chappelle (BOTA), Sarah Friedman (Policy), Victoria Lewis (Policy), Josh Novack (Front Office), Carol Robinson (BOTA/BAS) and Heather Steinitz (BTS) FAB: Thomasyne Hill (NO), George Jordan (NO) and Lise McKenney (FAJ) Jacksonville: Tim Henthorn Cleveland: Amanda Wine Denver: Bernadette DeHerrera Seattle: Marcus Gerlach, Christy Long, Jill Mortimer and Joleen Smith

Seattle was chosen as the site for centralized printing to support workplace flexibilities and telework. In addition, there is a 3-hour time difference between the east coast and Seattle. With the back-file conversion being conducted in Seattle they also have the on-board contract staff to manage this new process. .

  5. Introduction: The Pilot-Jacksonville The Energy pilot began in the Jacksonville district office and FAJ and launched on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Jacksonville was selected as the pilot based on the size of their office and number of potential teleworks. Based on what we learn from the Jacksonville pilot and post launch survey will determine what additional changes, if any, need to be made.
