Points to Consider Obtain import requirements - through the Competent Authority - importer Contact VSD to discuss requirements and start review process - consultation with Laboratory Department - consultation with Aquaculture Unit Inspection of Facility -HACCP PLAN, GMPs, process flow, product floor, floor plan, personnel flow plan

9. EXPORT of LIVE ANIMALS Submit application form and supporting documents Appointment set for 48 hours before date of export Inspection of animals Payment for health certificate Export licence from Trade Board

10. EXPORT of ANIMAL PRODUCTS Payment for Health certificate, export licence Send sample of product to VSD lab Application form, import requirements Letter of intent to export Registration and licencing of processing plants, freezer vessels

Product handling and storage Depends on: - Product - Requirements of importing country - Industry standards/ international standards - Animal welfare issues for live animals: size of crate, food/water, bedding - Identification: of facility, batches on boxes, export health certificate displayed - Storage: free from contamination (hazards, other animals)
