  4. UNIFORM & DRESS CODE Students should come to school in a clean uniform. Students with long hair are to tie it back neatly. Any kind of make-up and nail polish is prohibited.

  5. ABSENTEEISM Students are excused from school only in cases of illness or for a valid reason which needs to be documented from both parents by a letter. A medical certificate needs to be presented once the child returns back to school together with the Medical Certificate Record Card. Kindly inform school when your child is not going to attend school. School can accept up to 9 absences during the scholastic year. After the 9th Social workers will be involved.

  6. SICK DAYS Medical Certificate is to be presented after 3 sick days Eg: Mon, Tue, Wed sick note is enough Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs medical certificate VALID MEDICAL CERTIFICATE 1. name and address of student, 2. date when the child was medically examined, 3. the period of time that the medical certificate is valid for 4. clear doctor s signature and stamp. 5. this must be also on the medical card you were/will be given.

  7. MCRC Those that need one need to let their class teacher know as soon as possible.

  8. DISCIPLINE & RESPONSIBILITY Students need to follow the school/class rules, obey, study and respect their teachers & authority. Any kind of Bullying is prohibited Students who misbehave on school transport will not be allowed to use transport anymore. Students who do not take care of school property/books have to pay for the damage. Pupils who have certain behavioural problems will be referred to Early Intervention teacher / Guidance teacher / Prefect of Discipline, etc..

  9. COMMUNICATION Document sent with 1st circular. Will be resent through Teams by class teachers.

  10. Healthy Eating Encourage children to eat fruits and veggies. No cakes on birthdays. No sweet goody bags either. Invitations for parties are not to be distributed at school. Kindly inform us of children who suffer from any type of allergy. No fast food Home cooked meals are allowed Cereal Bars, croissants, etc are not permitted Only freshly squeezed juice is allowed Water fountains are available and tested regularly

  11. DATA SHEETS & PICK UP FORMS Teachers will be passing forms through teams. Fill in and resend to class teacher by Monday 2nd October, 2023 (Primary) Friday 6th October, 2023 (Kinder students) Fill in form with names of persons who have permission to pick up your child/ren from school in your absence, together with their ID card number and recent photo. When someone who is not the legal guardian of the child comes for pick up, they need to bring their ID card with them. Persons not on the form won t be given access via phone calls. Parents with shared / sole custody need to present court papers. Letters from lawyers are not accepted.

  12. CONSENT FORMS Consent forms needs to be signed or child will stay at school. Give a folder to your child so as to keep these consent forms handy. Those parents who do not give their consent for their child to have head screened will have to take their child to Top Brands to be screened.

  19. INFO Any tel/mobile/address change please inform administration office asap. If child is sick and you do not receive sms please inform us. System does not recognise foreign mobile numbers

  20. TRANSPORT Parents / guardians have to be on pick-up with the children waiting for the bus and on the drop-off point waiting for the children to return from school. NO STUDENT can alight the bus unattended by parent or guardian. Only year 5 and year 6 will be given permission to leave the drop off on their own after that parents have signed a consent form. Such students will NOT be allowed to take younger siblings with them after drop off. Students have to be on pick-up point at around 7.15am although some routes may be even earlier . Earliest drop-off at school can be from 7:45am onwards. ONLY students who are on the list sent by Education Division can start making use of transport from tomorrow.

  21. cont. Parents who applied but haven t received the confirmation email yet have to wait for said email. Then they are kindly asked to inform school and provide proof of confirmation email. Students who misbehave either on-board the bus or at school in the morning (before the start of school) or in the afternoon (after school finishes) will be suspended from using transport with immediate effect and parents/guardians informed of action taken. During first week it s very normal we come across a number of teething problems, like tardiness or confusion of pick-up points. Please bear patience till things settle down.

  22. cont. On each bus there will be an onboard supervisor, ie a member of staff, both in the morning and in the afternoon as from September 27thPrimary & October 2ndKinder. It is important to note that it is not their duty to alight from bus to help students cross the street or to wait with students on stop while parents or guardians turn up. So please be considerate and on time. Each student will be given TWO COLOURED KEYCHAINS depending which route s/he will use. Keychains have to be attached on the OUTSIDE of school bag AND outing bag. Please write your kids names on label. They have to be visible AT ALL TIMES. To apply or change route for transport you can either call 25981888 or send an email on schooltransport@gov.mt .

BREAKFAST CLUB: Apply online by typing: Free Breakfast Club Service in Primary State Schools or go directly to www.servizz.gov.mt Once you submit the application, your child can start making use of Breakfast Club. Children are admitted for Breakfast club from 07.00am till 07.40am. Children will be given a prepared breakfast item. Till last year depending on the day, it consisted of a yoghurt or a ham sandwich or a turkey sandwich or a fruit muffin.
