SAC & MPC Mapping (slides 22-23) CCC/US GP Mapping Process BMCC 21-22 Degree Maps De Anza Crim Transfer Map Ventura CCD Program Mapper Guided Pathways/GP Program Maps: generally a suggested sequence of courses to reach certificate/degree & transfer/career often with GE recommendations, as well as career/transfer related information, milestones, co-curricular, & student supports REACH Pathway Maps: Seek to bridge the learning of these maps to collaboratively gather the gold of your pathways, particularly opportunities for increased equity! *These are post-secondary/community college use of these terms, other educational segments (K12, etc.) can use them VERY differently.

  5. So, what is a REACH Pathway Map? A REACH pathway map: Depicts a macro view of all credentials available within pathway Represents the full trajectory of credentials (certificates, industry certifications, degrees), including the on-ramps and off-ramps of pathway Shows how the credentials build (stack) on one another in a cohesive manner to encourage progress and builds students momentum for future upskilling and credentials Outlines the workplace value students receive with the attainment of each credential (jobs, wages, skills) Includes other supports that encourage retention and success for adult students of color, such as holistic student supports, culturally sustaining practices, and work-based learning opportunities

  6. Mapping 1-2-3 REACH Pathway Mapping Outcomes 1. Map your pathway! Your Maps must include: a. Pathway courses, certificates, and/or related certificates and degrees. b. Integrated/holistic student supports and co-curricular/around-the-curriculum milestones. c. Labor market information, job titles and competencies (sector, 21st century, etc.), and third party certifications with each credential. 2. Test drive your map. a. Using a current college schedule, create a student schedule for adult students b. Please be mindful about course availability, student employment/caregiving, availability of student supports, time to completion, and financial aid requirements 3. Mine your maps to REACH gold! a. What opportunities to improve your pathway for adult students of color exist? b. Who can help you review your map for improvements/additional resources? c. How can you communicate your map s gold to the students you are looking enroll?

Goal: Begin identifying the opportunities (and gaps) in the map for at least 1 REACH pathway Due Date: October 1- ideal to complete prior to GP Institute #3 (9/27-9/29) because there will be additional support at sessions related to REACH Instructions for Submission: Upload this toolkit with all steps completed for at least one REACH pathway to the REACH Vision Resource Center community in the College Deliverables folder Slide 19: Instructions Slide 20-22: REACH Pathway Review prompts
