Proposal for Play Area Signage Improvement
Playground inspection reports highlighted the need for signage improvements in play areas across the parish. Tony has researched guidelines and proposed a set of possible signs with cost estimates from Wicksteed. The options include various sign types and sizes, with two signs suggested for each play area—one with the park name and contact details, and another with equipment-specific information. Costings range from a minimum of £3,200 for fence-mounted signs to a maximum of £5,250 for post-mounted signs. The preferred sign size, number of signs per location, and costings need to be considered. The provided image includes examples of sign sizes and specifications for fence or post mounting. A sample message for the signs is also included. Contact details for feedback to the Parish Council are provided on the proposed sign.

Playground inspection reports have all noted the lack of/inadequacy of signage at the play areas throughout the parish. Tony has looked at guidelines and put together a set of possible signs and a quote for signs has been obtained from Wicksteed (see next slide). There are obviously many options re sign types/sizes. Tony has looked at two signs for each play area (1 with park name, contact details and 1 with equipment specific info) and for each sign to measure 300mm wide by 200mm high. Based on this spec costings will be minimum of 3,200, if fence mounted, and a maximum of 5,250, if they all post mounted. (NB Need to check if figures quoted include VAT or not). The appropriate method of fixing for each site would need to be checked. OUTDOOR GYM AREA This is NOT children s play equipment. The equipment is intended for use by youths and adults. Minimum height for use of this equipment is 140cm (4ft 7inch). Only one person at a time at each workout station. Read and follow the instructions on each piece of equipment before use. If you have any doubts about your health or fitness, consult a doctor or a trained professional before using the equipment. Avoid over exertion and stop if you feel faint or dizzy. Keep well hydrated, particularly on warm days. Stand clear when equipment is in use. Users use this equipment at their own risk. Do not use if the equipment is damaged or broken and report the damage. SKATEPARK Park open from Dawn to Dusk. This skatepark is not supervised. Skate at your own risk. Helmets, pads and safety gear are strongly recommended. Skateboards, rollerblades and BMX freestyle bikes only. No graffiti, no homemade rails or other props. No abusive language, drugs, alcohol or glass containers. Please keep the park clean, clean up after yourself and do not leave trash on or around the skatepark. Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by a responsible adult. Users use this equipment at their own risk. Do not use if the equipment is damaged or broken and report the damage.
