  7. Property Committee Overview The Property Committee has been formed by the Board of Directors to oversee and facilitate future stages of property development and transition. Included in this committee s area of responsibility are: The oversight of investment in existing camp properties the Board voted to retain. The divesting of properties identified to be retired. The guidance of the three-year plan to manage properties that are retained under a review status. 7

  8. Website/Information Under the tab titled Property Committee are materials and information important to those properties owned and operated by GSHPA. As always, member input and comment is vital to the ongoing responsibility of the Property Committee. Please continue to share comments and input by emailing feedback@gshpa.org Because of the volume of emails received at this address, GSHPA is not able to respond individually to each comment.   9. Webinar Format and Question Submission As a reminder, the question log closes one week prior to the date of the webinar. The question log will re-open (tomorrow) on September 27, 2018 for submissions for the next Quarterly Property Town Hall Webinar scheduled for Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 6 pm. 9

  10. Timeline and Retired Camps Update November 2017: Board of Directors approved a long range property and program strategy. Prioritized all seven of GSHPA s camp properties into three categories: Retire Review Retain Retired Camps: Camp Echo Trail Camp Golden Pond Camp Louise 10

  11. Camps Under Review Camp Archbald Camp Furnace Hills Camp Happy Valley Format for tonight: Reservations Forestry Management Utilization/Benchmarks Meetings with Friends Groups Outdoor Experience & Programming 11

  12. Reservations Update to the website. Online property reservations. Easier to reserve and better communicate to those reserving. Potential for expanding rentals to consider one cabin, tent or yurt at a time in order to keep down costs. 12

  15. Forestry Management Camp Small Valley, Camp Furnace Hills & Camp Echo Trail are undergoing forestry management processes. Camps are not being clear cut. Trees were evaluated by a licensed forester. GSHPA worked with local townships to file the appropriate permits. Tree lines were cut back extensively in areas where girl programming takes place and where sleeping areas are located. 15

  16. Utilization/Benchmarks Benchmarks are based on subsidy rates, as per Board of Directors approved motions. Camp Archbald & Happy Valley: o FY18: 90% o FY19: 50% o FY20: 20% Camp Furnace Hills: FY19: 90% FY20: 50% FY21: 20% Benchmark updates are posted with Property Committee meeting summaries Revenue is based on troop and group rental, as well as philanthropy dollars received for that specific camp property. 16

Meetings with Friends Groups GSHPA Property Committee and staff members have either had or scheduled regular calls with friends groups associated with: o Camp Furnace Hills o Camp Louise o Camp Golden Pond GSHPA has requested to meet with the Supporters of Camp Archbald, but to date has not heard back. 18

  19. Outdoor Experience Outdoor experience opportunities are planned across GSHPA s footprint. These include: o State Parks o Camp Happy Valley o Camp Furnace Hills o Camp Archbald o Camp Small Valley GSHPA has heard from girl members that they want more outdoor experience and in places other than Girl Scout camps. Mobile programming allows all girl members to have an event experience. Safety of our girl members is always our primary concern. Check out the event calendar for the most up to date lists and opportunities! 19
