The Kenyan National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) is actively involved in preventing and countering violent extremism, particularly focusing on groups like Al Shabaab and ISIS in Kenya and the region. The NCTC collaborates with organizations like ICSVE to create counter-narrative videos for prevention and intervention purposes, targeting online and offline distribution channels. A case study of Aisha, known as "The Lioness," highlights the dangers of online radicalization and recruitment. The NCTC's efforts include data collection, interviews with returnees and imprisoned individuals, and production of counter-narrative videos. Additionally, the NCTC conducts campaigns like "The Lion and the Lioness of the Islamic State" on Swahili Facebook to reach target regions in Kenya.
