  1. Final Reflection CLE 10 Alyssa Clark

  2. Unit 1 A/B - Engagement and Tech it Up Engagement and technology were two main focuses in this unit, and I feel that I was able to extend my growth in these areas and learn more about myself and what my interests are. With unit 1A I felt that it helped me with my personal awareness of what I am doing and the importance of things, such as physical activity, and how it ties into my life, and how the physical activity that I am already doing is contributing to my school and towards graduation. Unit 1B has helped me become more engaged in the world outside of school. Creating my resume and doing a mock job interview was something that I believed to help me learn more about myself. I am a person who easily gets stressed and completing the interview helped to give me more confidence, and it will help me when I am doing a real interview.

  3. Unit 2 I can identify when others need support and provide it. I have always been a person to put others fist, before myself and I am also always very aware of situations and my surroundings. I always enjoy helping people whether it is with schoolwork or with sports and I always try and find a way around any problem that may arise. A lot of the time I can identify that someone needs assistance, and I try my best to try and help them. When I was in Math, I could tell that one of my classmates were struggling with understanding one of the units that I understood well, so I approached then and asked if they wanted me to explain it to them in a simple way to understand. After I helped them, they started to get all the questions correct and they started to have a good understanding of the unit. Another example is when I was at soccer practice, I could tell that one of my teammates were struggling with their long balls. I asked them if they wanted to go to the field with me outside of training to practice them on our own and I was able to help them with their technique. Once we returned to our team training my teammate was hitting perfect long balls and was much more consistent.

  4. Unit 2 I can reflect on my strengths and identify my potential as a leader in my community. Soccer is one of my strengths, along with communication, positive attitude and responsibility. After identifying my strengths, I was able to use them and become a soccer coach for young girls and volunteering for other soccer camps. Through coaching I have helped to grow my strengths and expand my knowledge on different areas of the sport and being a leader. Helping kids with the same passions as I is something that I enjoy and something that I hope to continue to do.

  5. Unit 3 - Money In unit 3 I was able to learn more about the importance of financial awareness and how expensive things are. I have learned that it is very important to have a financial plan, especially when you are planning to attend post-secondary or if you are moving out on your own. Having a plan will help you to save money and spend less on the things that not essentials. There are also many things that take up a lot of money like cars, housing, food, clothing, heating, cleaning and much more, so having a plan and knowing what you need is important, so you are not wasting any money on unnecessary things. When completing the how much do I cost assignment, it helped me become aware of all the living expenses and it helped me put the importance of financial plans into perspective. It was a little surprising to find out how expensive it is to live and how much money my parents spend on me so that they can give me the best life possible.

  6. Unit 4 Healthy Balance Healthy balance and healthy living were that topics that were covered in this unit. This unit was probably that most beneficial for myself personally. Having a healthy lifestyle has always been very important to me and throughout the unit I was able to reflect on my own behaviors and either correct them or expand the areas that I didn t know much about. Learning about the importance of eating healthy and how to track and make it easier for you to access healthy meals and food were the most helpful to me. Another takeaway that I had was self-care. I am always very busy with extra curriculars and schoolwork that I don t tend to find a lot of time to focus on myself. After completing the PSA assignment, which I did on self-care, it helped me to realize the importance of it and I have started to incorporate self-care into my daily routines. Finding out more about ways to have a healthy lifestyle has helped me change some of my own habits because it has made me aware of the things that I have been doing and I have been able to find ways to change them.

  7. Unit 5 The Future In unit 5 I was given a lot of information on graduation and the importance of goal setting. For me it feels as if graduations is still far away, but it is right around the corner, and I was able to realize the importance of starting to plan out what I want in the future. It is important to recognize this because to graduate there are certain requirements that you need and all the classes that I am taking or have taken influence my credits towards graduation, so it is very important that I am staying on top of all my classes and classwork. I also realized the importance of planning and goal setting. Knowing what I want to do or having an idea is important, so I can start planning what I am going to do after high school. I learned that is important to set goals for yourself because they are a lot easier to follow once you have them planned out and you set a deadline. It also helps if you tell people about your goal because you become more motivated to accomplish it when there are others who know about it, so they can push you but also support you.
