  9. Verbal Reasoning 21 minutes 11 passages of text each linked to 4 questions Assesses your ability to read and think carefully about information presented No prior knowledge is needed to answer the questions 44 questions Some questions assess critical reasoning skills, requiring you to draw conclusions from information For other questions you decide whether a statement follows logically from information in the passage 11 passages

  10. Correct answer: B Continual UV treatment is portrayed as positive throughout the text, particularly in the highlighted sections in the third paragraph.

  11. Decision Making 31 minutes Assesses the ability to apply logic to reach a decision or conclusion, evaluate arguments and analyse statistical information Different question types including logical puzzles, syllogisms and Venn diagrams 29 questions Knowledge of specific mathematical or logical reasoning terminology is not required Associated with tables, diagrams, text, charts or graphs An on-screen basic calculator is available for use All questions are standalone You can make notes using a whiteboard/marker pen

Yes Yes - since all poets were authors and some poets not writers it can be concluded some authors were both poets and writers. Yes No No - we cannot conclude from the given statement that all authors were either poets or writers. Yes Yes - some poets were not writers, therefore not all authors who were poets were writers. 14. Correct Answer: B (78) Cost of two mono 24 x 10 = 2 x 7,533 = 15,066 Cost of one mono 22 x 5 = 3,836 Total cost = 18,902 Cost of 4 colour 8 x 10 = 4 x 4,706 = 18,824 Difference = 18,902 18,824 = 78

  15. Abstract Reasoning 12 minutes Assesses your ability to identify patterns amongst abstract shapes; irrelevant and distracting material may lead to incorrect conclusions The test measures your ability to change track, critically evaluate and generate hypotheses and query your judgements as you go along 50 questions There are 4 different questions types in this test associated with sets of shapes Associated with numerous sets of shapes

  16. Correct Answer: C (Set Neither) Set A Rule: All shapes in Set A have figures with curved edges. Set B Rule: All of the shapes in Set B have straight edges. For this question, one shape has curved edges and the other has straight edges. The answer is therefore neither A nor B.

  17. Situational Judgement Measures your capacity to understand real world situations and to identify critical factors and appropriate behaviour in dealing with them 26 minutes Assesses key traits of integrity, empathy, team involvement, resilience and adaptability 69 questions Questions do not require medical or procedural knowledge Various scenarios (with up to 6 associated questions) SJTs are used widely in postgraduate medical and dental selection GMC Guidelines on Good Medical Practice

  19. Scoring 2516 (Avg. score 2023) The test is marked on the number of correct answers There is no negative marking for incorrect answers In Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning, raw marks are converted to scaled scores that range from 300 to 900 A total score is generated by summing the individual scale scores (ranges from 1200 to 3600) In the Situational Judgement Test scores are expressed in one of four bands, with Band 1 being the highest 24
