  1. Your Infant is Almost 2-months old D. Hallas PhD, CPNP, PMHS, FAANP S. Altman, DNP, CNM Vaccine Study

  2. Congratulations: Your infant is almost 2-months old Let s Talk About 2-month old Vaccines

  3. Vaccines for Infants who are 2-Months Old Your infant is almost 2-months old. We hope you have enjoyed all these precious moments with your newborn. It is now time to think about your infant s 2-month old medical visit. Have you made a decision to vaccinate your infant at the 2-month old visit? o Yes o No

  4. YES! Youve made a terrific decision! Informed Decision Making Information Here are resources available for parents on vaccines to be a well informed health consumer and parent advocate. Resources for the Vaccines https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/index.html and click on Parents and Birth to 18 years For Parents: vaccines and your children: How vaccines work and How to Make the Decision https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/vaccine-deci sion/index.html This link also talks about the risks to your child if you decide not to vaccinate your child o 4 Presentation Title Goes Here *

  5. So you have not made a decision as yet. Ok, Let s help you make an Informed Decision Informed Decision Making Information Here are resources available for parents on vaccines to be a well informed health consumer and parent advocate. Resources for the Vaccines https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/index.html and click on Parents and Birth to 18 years For Parents: vaccines and your children: How vaccines work and How to Make the Decision https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/vaccine-deci sion/index.html This link also talks about the risks to your child if you decide not to vaccinate your child o 5 Presentation Title Goes Here *

  6. Still Not Sure??? Did you review the previous information to help you make an Informed Decision? If yes: o Are you still questioning whether to have your 2-month old infant receive the vaccines as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and ACIP? IN ORDER TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION, THIS MAY BE THE NEXT BEST STEP FOR YOU: o Become familiar with the vaccines and what vaccine preventable diseases they protect your infant against, once they have received the vaccines and developed the own antibodies against the diseases? How can you do this? 6 Presentation Title Goes Here *

  7. Here is a Case to consider A parent decides not to vaccinate her 2-month old infant. At 3 months old the infant has a persistent, whooping cough. o This can be prevented if the infant received the vaccine o Here is a link to a video on YouTube that shows a child with whooping cough (pertussis). This is a scary video but one you need to see if you are hesitant about having your child receive the Dtap vaccine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3oZrMGDMMw

  8. If I Could Speak to You I am too little to speak to you. If I could speak, I would say: Please vaccinate me! I do not want to get that that nasty disease I love you unconditionally! 8 Presentation Title Goes Here *

  9. Decision Making Now that you have seen that video showing an infant with a diagnosis of pertussis struggling to breathe, the decision to vaccinate your infant may be a little easier. You have the parental power to prevent this vaccine preventable disease and other vaccine preventable diseases such as Tetany (lockjaw), diphtheria, polio, rotavirus (which can be a very severe diarrhea infection), meningitis (which can affect brain development and may lead to death) hepatitis B, and as your infant reaches his/her first birthday, measles (both german measles and 3-day measles, mumps, and chickenpox, BY HAVING YOUR INFANT VACCINATED ON TIME DURING INFANCY AND THROUGHOUT CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE

  10. Making the Informed Decision Here are some resources for vaccine information from national experts on vaccines https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/index.html and click on Parents and Birth to 18 years For Parents: vaccines and your children: How vaccines work and How to Make the Decision https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/vaccine-decision/index.html o This link also talks about the risks to your child if you decide not to vaccinate your child

  11. Please Tell Us Your Decision Now that you have seen the video and reviewed the Resources on the web site, you are prepared to make an informed decision. Have you decided to vaccinate your 2-month old infant at the next office visit? Please check only one answer) Yes .Maybe...No

  12. Please Post a Picture of Your Baby We have a special place on our website for pictures of all babies whose Mom s had them vaccinated at the 2-month old visit. We hope you are able to post your baby s picture there! Here is the link: 12 Presentation Title Goes Here *

  13. Your Decision If you have decided not to vaccinate your infant, please share the reason for your decision. We appreciate your participation in this study. 13 Presentation Title Goes Here *
