Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake in Tennessee as of October 8, 2021
In this update, Tennessee reports an increase in COVID-19 vaccine uptake with 52.8% having at least one dose and 46.7% fully immunized. The state ranks 40th in vaccine administration per 100K population. Vaccine hesitancy is addressed, and dates of FDA committee meetings on booster authorizations and children's vaccinations are provided.

Goldstein et al2: Retrospective cohort study of pregnant women found the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine compared with no vaccination was associated with a significantly lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. After analyzing and assessing data from the V-SAFE registry in nearly 2,500 pregnant women who were vaccinated before 20 weeks of pregnancy, the CDC did not find an increase in the number miscarriages.
