Parents Right to Know Title 1 Liberty is a Title 1 School In accordance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3319.074 law regarding the professional qualification of teachers, parents have the right to: Request the professional qualifications of your child s teachers and professionals; Receive written notification after four consecutive weeks, if your child s teacher is not properly licensed; Have access to your child s individual performance level on the statewide assessments and individual report card that lets you know how your child is progressing; and Request policies regarding student participation in state mandated assessments.

A Day in the Life of a Virtual Elementary Student Elementary School
Expectations for Students Log in 5-10 minutes prior to start time (to avoid technical problems. Be in attendance and actively participation during scheduled times. Limit distractions during learning times (no toys, cell phones, eating, playing with siblings). You are encouraged to have your camera on during learning time (unless the teacher signals you to turn off your camera). Mute your mic (only use when speaking or presenting). Students are expected to be out of bed, appropriately dressed and in a designated work space when participating in on-line instruction/activities.
Expectations for Parents Make sure students are logged on, actively engaged and completing assignments. Ensure your contact information (address, phone number(s), and email address are up-to-date in the system). You can use the parent portal to update information at any time, or email the secretary. Be responsive to teaching staff (check your email, voicemail) and engaged in your child s learning. Have supplies readily available to support your child during virtual learning (teacher s can help you understand what is needed) Support your child with the work, help them understand concepts but DO NOT DO THE WORK FOR THEM. Ensure Chromebook is charged each day. Help students find a designated work space that is free of distractions during learning time.
What to Expect from the Liberty Staff Lessons/activities/assignments will be aligned to Common Core State Standards and be purposeful in nature. Consistency in scheduling on-line instruction, intervention and enrichment activities Lessons will be intentionally planned, meaningful and engaging for students. Every teacher will set up consistent office hours to support students and parents in the learning process. Teacher work day hours are 8:15-3:45pm. Teachers will provide substantive and timely feedback to parents with regard to student progress in the virtual learning environment. Teachers will provide a distraction free environment.
