Purpose An increasingly complex university environment requires building capacity for inclusive leadership and organizational change Unit leaders are uniquely poised to lead and create this change within the university Literature and local observations demonstrate critical need for curriculum in this area Curriculum fills a gap in leadership development opportunities Initiative is aligned with strategic priorities detailed in SP 4.0, the university s diversity strategic plan, and PPLC reports OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY 2

Curriculum Our initiative aims to prepare academic unit heads to effectively: Lead organizational change for diversity, equity, and inclusion Build coalitions to deliberate and advance strategic priorities Facilitate organizational learning at individual, team, and systems levels Respond to conflict and care for communities in crisis OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY 3
