  1. Model Answer 1.2 Impact on Performance Positive Factor = Physical I have a good level of CRE fitness so I can last the duration of the game and fatigue does not affect my decision making and shots. My speed is good so I can move around the court quickly and this helps our team defense. I can play accurate overhead serves and this puts pressure on our opposition as they struggle to return them. My dig shots are high which gives my team time to move underneath the ball to set up an attack play and helps three shot rallies.

  2. Model Answer 1.2 Impact on performance Negative Factor = Social During volleyball I needed to work as a team. As my communication was poor I failed to tell my team mates that I was in position and they did not pass to me in a game. I was able to play some shots but because I did not talk they moved into my position to play. This created holes in our team structure. I did not like playing at the net so I failed to cooperate with my team and struggled to play attacking shots. My team mates then did not trust me in this position so would not pass to me.

  3. Model Answer 1.3 (N4) Describe a training approach Factor = Physical Skill Approach = Repetition drill In volleyball I tried to complete as many dig shots to myself as possible. The aim was to hit the dig high so that I had enough time to get under the ball to complete another dig. I counted how many I did so that I could see if I improved. Placing my palms together gave me a nice flat surface with the inside of arms to play the ball.

  4. Model Answer 1.3 (N5) Explain the benefits A repetition drill was beneficial as it allowed be to develop my contact with the ball and practice the technique over and over again. As I fatigued it put me under pressure to keep going. Repetition drills help groove technique and develop muscle memory to perform the skill over and over. I also developed footwork to play the dig as I had to move underneath the ball to get in good positions to play more digs.
