  7. Expectations: You have come to M2 because you want professionals to guide your daughter s volleyball experience. We have several opportunities for productive parent involvement. Please take advantage of these opportunities and let the club worry about the volleyball. When you sign with M2, regardless of the level of the team, you are committing to honor that agreement. Each team has approximately 12 players. Even one player who does not demonstrate the right level of commitment can impact the investment (in money, time and effort) of the rest of the team. You will read, sign, and abide by the M2 Code of Conduct, and agree to the consequences set forth in it. This applies to both players AND parents. Above all, you will be a positive force, whether within your team as a player or for your child as a parent. Negativity has no place at M2.

  8. Communications: If you have questions after this presentation, please use one of the following methods to get an answer: We will have a Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Please try to avoid specific/personal situation questions to a minimum during this time. We will remain after this meeting for a while to answer more specific questions. Afterwards, you can email any questions to: info@m2volleyballclub.com We will try to answer questions in as timely a manner as possible. 15. Club Fees and Commitment Club Fees: Dependent on team level as outlined on the previous pages Do not include travel (hotel or airfare) at any level Do not include Shoes or other equipment other than listed previously Do not include additional training or clinics offered by the club. Financial Commitment: Once you commit to a team, you are responsible for payment of all fees for the season, including in the following situations: Injury prevents you daughter from competing for some or all of the season. You willingly leave the team or are asked to leave the team due to code of conduct violations. Financial hardship. Insurance is an option to assist in these situations. Deposits are due at time of commitment as follows: Elite teams deposits are due on day of offer National teams deposits are due within 24 hours of offer Regional teams deposits are due within 48 hours of offer At time of commitment, you will be required to sigh a financial agreement and select a payment plan.

  16. Financial Responsibilities Payments can be made in full or via a monthly pay plan set up through SportsEngine. There is a 7% discount for full payment, and an additional 3% discount for full payment in cash. Siblings receive a 5% discount off of each child s fees. We cannot take monthly payments in any other form other than through SportsEngine. If your account is behind, your daughter will not be able to participate in practices or tournaments until it is current. Reminder: Full payment is due even if your daughter does not complete the season for any reason.

  17. How do I know which is right for my daughter? Decide upfront how important volleyball is vs. other activities How many days/week can you commit to practice? Look at the tournament schedule vs. other priorities (school holidays/spring break are NOT an excuse to miss a tournament) What can you afford to spend on volleyball? Travel expenses include airfare for you and your daughter, sometimes to inconvenient places. Most tournaments require that you stay at tournament hotels (chosen by the club) while we strive to book moderate options, they may not be the lowest cost option. Are you willing and able to commit through the end of the season? Do your homework before tryouts and don t get caught up in the moment and make a decision you ll regret!

  18. Tryout Conflicts Conflicts are inevitable! Arriving late is not a conflict. Just communicate! If you have a tight turnaround between tryouts, just let us know. Arriving a few minutes late will not impact our decisions. Get to know the clubs. Do your research, attend open gyms and clinics. That will help you prioritize which tryouts to attend on day one. All Clubs want to form teams on the first day. Players asked to join an Elite-1 team will be asked to commit on Tryout day. Others we may ask to come back the next day so we can evaluate further. If you cannot make Day One, by all means come on Day Two! However, understand that by that time, many decisions may already have been made.

  19. Tournament Conflicts Communication is key. If we know up front what conflicts you have, we can consider other options (like a different team with different practice dates). If a player is a great fit for a team, and has one tournament conflict, we may be able to work around it. The higher the level, the less likelihood that conflicts can be addressed. At an Elite level, missing a tournament, or a practice on a regular basis can have a profound impact on the rest of the team. Do not accept a spot on a team knowing you have a conflict without discussing it with us first!

  20. Recruiting* * Recruiting services are included in our 16, 17, and 15-1 Elite team club fees and are available for our National teams (either as a team or individually) upon request.

  21. How does the tryout process work? Register as soon as possible so we can plan! Tryout fees goes to $60 on July 1. Attend tryouts. Tryouts will be drop off. We do not have room for parent observations at the facility. We plan to form our elite teams on the first day of tryouts. We will ask players to make a financial commitment at that time to guarantee their spots. At this time, we will also start to extend offers to players we have observed during the pre-tryout process. We will notify parents of players being offered an elite team spot by text prior to the end of tryouts so you can return and help their daughters with the decision! National players have 24 hours from the start of tryouts to accept an offer and regional teams will have 48 hours to accept an offer. We may also ask some girls to return for call backs if we need more time to observe them. Throughout the process including callbacks, girls will be offered spots on teams and we will have callbacks and make-up tryouts for younger players and regional teams late summer/early fall. Formal signing will take place on September 1st.

  22. If you will not be in town for tryouts: Register anyway. If you can attend any other Pre-tryout clinics or camps prior to tryouts, that will help the coaches get to know you, but these will not count as an official observation. All players who are observed prior to tryouts will be notified of their status within 3 days of tryouts. We will also be having additional tryouts later in the summer to fill out any remaining positions, primarily on our national and regional teams. If your daughter is trying out for 11 s and 12 s and cannot make tryouts or the pre-tryout clinics, we will not be doing cuts at this level. You can let us know that your daughter definitely wants to play and we will include her. We will be doing evaluations/team forming for 11 s and 12 s later in the summer. Formal signing will take place on September 1st.

  23. Other Questions My daughter is new, and we don t know what position she plays! What do we do? Don t know is a valid answer on the registration form! We understand that especially for younger players, they don t have a position yet. My daughter ONLY wants to play for an Elite team (or regional, etc.), how do we indicate this? If you are ONLY interested in a particular level, please let us know at tryouts. Otherwise, we will offer her the highest level she qualifies for. My daughter is willing to play (or does play) more than one position. Which one does she try out for? You can select a primary and secondary position. If she is new and doesn t have a position yet, select don t know.

  24. Next Steps: A copy of this presentation will be on our website Tryouts Page The Code of Conduct is on our Website. Please read it before Trying Out at M2 Sign up for Tryouts ASAP Attend a pre-tryout clinic if at all possible to get to know the club.

  25. What to expect on Tryout Day: Arrive and fill out a Tryout Card (indicate team level and position) Check in at the Front Desk with your daughter Your daughter will go to the back, and you can leave and return at the end of tryouts. If your daughter is offered a position on an Elite team, you will receive a text and be asked to return to the club a bit early. All other players will receive an offer card indicating either a team offer or waitlist. You can accept all offers and pay a deposit online (timeline varies based on team level) Elite offers need to accept and pay a deposit prior to leaving tryouts.
