Contact Tracing Rules From 18thSeptember a relevant person : Must legally request contact tracing details; Must securely retain contact tracing details for a period of 21 days beginning with the day the details are provided; Destroy those details as soon as reasonably practicable after the 21 day period; Disclose those details if required to do so by Secretary of State (in reality this is Track and Trace) or Public Health Officer); Take all reasonable steps to prevent entry where details are refused, incomplete or you have reason to believe they are inaccurate.
Contact Tracing Detail Requirements The details required to be taken and retained are as follows: Name Telephone Number Email Address (when the individual is unable to provide a telephone number) Postal Address (when no email address is available a physical address must be provided) Date and time entered premises If giving on behalf of a group the number in the group Where likely to only come into contact with one member of staff, volunteer or other person must record details of who they came into contact with
Group Requirements One person can give details on behalf of a group of six (or more if an exemption applies) Where it is lawful for a group of more than six to enter then it must be split into sub groups on six or less and one person can give details for the sub-group
Who Else Does it Apply to? Staff Contractors or service providers Volunteers Any other person who is not exempt Exempt Groups: Police / PCSO Emergency responder other than police Postal and courier services
QR Code From 24thSeptember it is a legal requirement to: Display and make available the government QR code on your premises with the aim that anyone who has a smartphone can scan the code as, or immediately after they enter the premises. If people scan the code and then other details do not need to be kept Any individual person scanning the QR code independently is not treated then as part of a group for group submissions You must therefore take steps to ensure that they have scanned the code before entry or take details.

Exempt Persons In addition to police, emergency services, postal services etc. the following persons are exempt: Children under 16 Those unable to provide details owning to a physical or mental disability or other reason related to health
Rule of Six From 18thSeptember 2020 pubs, restaurants, cafes etc. must to take all reasonable measures not to: Take bookings for groups of more than six unless exemptions apply Permit groups of more than six unless exemptions apply Permit groups to mingle Ensure that appropriate distance is maintained between tables
Appropriate Distance Appropriate distance between tables is defined as: At least two metres or One metre if there are barriers or screens between tables, or Tables are arranged with back to back seating, or Are otherwise arranged to ensure that persons sitting at one table do not face any person sitting at another table at a distance of less than two metres.
Further Provisions (25/9) Relevant businesses must not carry on business between 10pm and 5am except takeaway either delivery of to someone collection in a vehicle Where alcohol is sold may serve food and drink only if person is seated and all reasonable steps taken to ensure person remains seated Applies to cinemas, theatres etc. but film, performance started before 10pm can conclude after 10pm Staff and customers to wear face coverings unless exempt or when customer is seated
Further Provisions (29/9) In public house, caf , restaurant or bar (including a bar in a hotel or members club): No singing in groups of more than six No dancing (unless wedding reception and wedded couple or civil partners) No music above 85db
Enforcement Police Officer PCSO Person designated by Secretary of State Local authority officer i.e. trading standards, environmental health or licensing officer
Penalties 1000 FPN first breach (reduced to 500 if paid within 14 days) 2000 FPN second breach (no reduction) 4000 FPN third breach (no reduction) Or prosecution with unlimited fine; Licensed premises could also face licence review
