  2. T-SHIRT SALES You can purchase the shirts March 24th-31st on the Online Payments section of the School website for $10 each Profits will be donated to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation

  3. 2021 MOCK COMPETITION Week of March 22nd-26th (week after spring break) Multiple Choice Events will be taken on a google form that will sent out when the time starts Contestants will also join a Microsoft Teams Live and keep their cameras on during the test 3 Events: Medical terminology Medical Spelling Research Poster

  4. MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY Monday March 22nd @ 2:30 on the HOSA Teams page Medical Terminology provides members with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills regarding prefixes, suffixes, roots and anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and occupations related to the health field. The test will consist of 50 multiple choice items in a maximum of 45 minutes (shortened version of traditional HOSA medical terminology test) Example Question: What is the study of the structure, composition and function of body tissues? A. Biology B. Cytology C. Endocrinology D. Histology

MEDICAL SPELLING MEDICAL SPELLING Tuesday March 23rd @ 2:30 on the HOSA Teams Page Medical Spelling provides HOSA members with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills regarding definitions and spelling of medical terms The test will consist of 50 multiple choice items in a maximum of 60 minutes Example Question: Which term refers to a specialist in diseases of the nervous system? A. Neuralogist B. Neologist C. Neurologist D. Nurologist

  6. RESEARCH POSTER Due Wednesday March 24th @ 2:30 Research Poster provides HOSA members with the opportunity to think critically about a health-related issue in their community; pose a research question surrounding the chosen topic; and conduct research on that topic. All competitors will develop a Research Poster showcasing their findings. Competitors must pose a topic and research question that can be researched in their community Topics must be health-related, but flexibility is given to competitors to select something of interest and of local importance and relevance. Turn in your poster to your medical teacher, If you are an online student email a high- quality picture to alexandradavidov22@gmail.com and put HOSA in the subject

  7. TIPS FOR COMPETITORS! Read and follow the guidelines! Your event guidelines detail everything about your event including what topics you will be tested on or what you need to include in your project If your event has a grading rubric, look it over! For events like research poster, make sure to look at the rubric and check that you have everything the judges will be looking for to maximize the number of points you get
