Merge/Replace Version With Excellent One Question: I have an extremely good source of one major branch of the family tree. What I want to do is replace my version (or merge) with the excellent one. I would prefer to do it as automatically as possible. The question is how to do this as simply and as accurately as possible? Answer: There have been some good discussions on TMG-L over the past couple of decades. Go to http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/search then enter "merge dataset" in the "Body" field and click the "Search" button. This brings up several email trails from various people who asked about doing things similar to what you want to do. Here are a couple that might help you out. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/tmg/2004-06/1086378650 http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/tmg/2000-07/0964393678 If these (and perhaps some others) don't answer your particular question, perhaps you might get an idea or two from them.
