Work Placements
A work placement lasts for a limited period of time; usually forming part of a
course of study during which someone works for a company or organisation in
order to get work experience, which may be paid or not paid.
It can offer you plenty of benefits for progressing into your chosen career. You
might think you know a lot about your dream profession but won't truly know
what it's really like until you've actually tried it.
Work placements offer the perfect opportunity to gain work experience whilst
studying. As well as adding value to your CV and boost your chances of
getting hired.
Moreover, during a work placement you'll be working with other people which
is a good opportunity to develop your teamwork and interpersonal skills and
become a more rounded and attractive candidate.
If you perform well on a work placement, you might be offered a job at the
company after your placement ends.
If you do a variety of different work placements, you might find something you
are passionate about and get motivated. Work experience does give you
something to put on your
CV
and gently introduces you to the world of work.
