Dual Enrollment Program at St. Johns River State College
The Dual Enrollment Program at St. Johns River State College offers eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. Students with a 3.0 GPA and acceptable test scores can take college-level courses for credit towards graduation. Test scores in math, reading, and writing are required for enrollment. Classes are offered at Tocoi Creek High School and SJR State College campuses, with students responsible for transportation to SJR. WHAT IS DUAL ENROLLMENT? THE DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM AT ST. JOHNS RIVER STATE COLLEGE provides eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Eligible students can take one or more college-level courses which will qualify for high school graduation credits as well as college credit. P A G E 0 1

T O C O I C R E E K H I G H S C H O O L WHO TAKES DUAL ENROLLMENT? SPECIFIC COURSE OF STUDY A.A. GENERAL Students who are interested in earning a high school diploma and Associates of Arts (A.A) degree simultateously. Students who want to take required general college classes most colleges require. For example, Composition 1 or College Algebra. Students who are interested in a specific courses of study and have exhausted all of the HS and online elective options. For example, a student is interested in computers and wants to take DE computer classes. E N R O L L M E N T D U A L P A G E 0 5
T O C O I C R E E K H I G H S C H O O L WHAT TYPE OF STUDENT IS SUCCESSFUL IN DE? Students are responsible for selecting their own courses, keeping up with their own coursework without reminders from professors, Nease counselors, and/or parents. Students must also get themselves to class ON TIME. RESPONSIBLE Professors will only communicate with students; therefore, students must be mature enough to advocate for themselves. Students will need to set appointments with professors and communicate effectively with adults. MATURE There is minimal adult oversight.
