  1. Standing Committee: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Meeting Schedule The committee shall meet three times a semester or more as needed. A quorum will consist of 60% of the membership of the committee.   2. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Charge The committee shall review University policies and practices as they pertain to an inclusive and equitable institutional climate for all faculty, recommending modifications and improvements before the University Faculty Senate (UFS). The committee shall identify annual goals and objectives at the beginning of each academic year and present an annual report of its activities to the UFS.

  3. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Election Process The committee shall comprise nine (9) members and will aim to be representative of the entire faculty body in terms of diversity, rank, background, and experience. Members shall be elected from a slate of nominees solicited by the UFS and serve a two-year staggered term, with one of its members being a faculty representative from the FAU Diversity Council. Ex-officio (non-voting) members shall include the Provost or designee and representatives of organizational units at the university [e.g., OEI] as needed. At the beginning of each academic year, the committee shall elect its chair, who shall serve as a voting member.

  4. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Major Activities 2022-2023 Promotion of connections and collaboration among entities focussing on DEI throughout the university; Engagement with focus group on faculty retention; Review of hiring data from AY 2021-2022.
