Primary School Principal Teacher VSO Volunteer Tanzania Marine Proposals Engineer Management Consultant Support Worker & Trainer in Social Care Sector Digital Studio Account Coordinator Internship administrator Education administrator HR, Dept Work and Pensions Short talks followed by refreshments & a chance to chat with speakers on a 1-2-1basis Thursday 19th March 2015 5.00 7.30pm G32 Psychology Building 7 George Square

  2. Life Beyond... What is it? A joint collaboration between PPLS and the Careers Service to give students the opportunity to meet, and learn from, recent graduates from PPLS An informal social event with alumni giving lightning presentations to students followed by a food and wine reception for students and alumni to chat and share experiences

  3. Life Beyond Who is it for? For students to gain an insight into the wide range of possible careers available to graduates within their degree subject, and hear about alumni experiences since leaving University For students to get tips for making the best of University life and beyond , advice to help them to progress their plans (or lack of!) for their future, and cope with the realities of the employment market For alumni to revisit their time at university, give something back and help current students on their way

Identifying alumni careers service, central alumni and academic staff Case study template to all presenters Case studies published as a programme-booklet and online via the PPLS website Liaising with CHSS marketing for filming and interview podcasts Cost: catering & travel/.accommodation expenses High end chair: Head of School or Department Publicising with posters, Facebook, emails, and via PPLS societies

  5. Life Beyond What are the benefits? Engagement with alumni; potential for follow-up targeted careers events Students get advice from the wise including: do something else as well as study, take advantage of the many services on offer to students, ideas on what they might do on graduation, practical no-spin careers/employment advice reassurance that setbacks can be learning opportunities Case studies published as a booklet and online via the PPLS website capture the insights and advice for all current and future students Podcasts and films for use on the School careers website and for future applicants to PPLS, and in career-related talks and workshops An enjoyable/fun evening for all attendees; this is truly a feel-good event!
