About DIKSHA - Teachers at the Centre Technology will be used to upgrade the skills of teachers through the recently launched digital portal DIKSHA DIKSHA is a customizable National Digital Infrastructure that States can use for their respective teacher-centric initiatives. Teachers will be able to use DIKSHA to access and create high quality teaching, learning and assessment resources for all subjects and levels in all Indian languages. DIKSHA aims to strengthen Our Teachers, Our Heroes On the occasion of Teachers Day, Hon. Vertical 1 - Teacher Registry and Profile Includes framework for authorized data of in-service teachers and teacher educators Authorized Central and State organizations can: Publish official teacher, school and school leadership information Update and maintain this information in easy manner Use this information for better planning and policy implementation Registry will also include training details of in-service teachers and teacher educators In-service teacher profile will be pulled from Shaalakosh. DIKSHA will collect profile data for teacher educators and school administrators. 5 | National Council for Teacher Education

Vertical 2 - Teacher Professional Development Includes modules supporting teachers and trainers in their professional development These modules will be contributed by the Central organizations, States and authorized partner organizations This vertical also includes: Courses for need-based consumption State administrators can assign professional development courses to teachers Course completion certificates and badges with update in the teacher profile 7 | National Council for Teacher Education

Vertical 3 - Teaching and Learning Content Includes curriculum linked resources for teachers and students Resources will be available in varied formats such as lesson plans, videos, stories, PDFs, etc. These resources can be linked to textbooks via QR codes (energized textbooks). Resources will be available from Central organizations, States and authorized content partner organizations DIKSHA s technology can support: Offline content consumption Rating of resources and feedback mechanism Content available across multiple Education Boards with facility for search across such Boards 9 | National Council for Teacher Education

Vertical 3 - Teaching and Learning Content | Energized Textbooks..1 Energized Textbooks provide easy access to digital content from the textbooks by scanning QR Codes QR Codes can be placed at the chapter, topic or hard spot level QR codes on the textbook serves as a constant reminder to use digital content. This content can be of several types - audio-visual content, assessments, lesson plans etc Content residing behind the QR code can be modified or substituted at any time NCERT will print all textbooks with QR codes from academic year 2019-2020 Process Guidelines for implementation available. These include guidelines on printing, QR code dimensions, content linking guidelines etc. 11 | National Council for Teacher Education
Vertical 3 - Teaching and Learning Content | Energized Textbooks..2 ROLL OUT STATISTICS UTTAR PRADESH - 90mn textbooks Grades 1 to 8, All subjects, Hindi and Urdu Medium RAJASTHAN - 2.5mn textbooks 9th and 10th Math and Science MAHARASHTRA - 90mn textbooks Grades 1-10, All Subjects, All Mediums ANDHRA PRADESH - 7mn textbooks.. Grades 6-10, Telugu and English Medium, 3 subjects. TAMILNADU - 10.5mn textbooks. Grades 1, 6, 9, 11. All subjects, English and Tamil Medium More than 200 mn textbooks with QR codes are being printed for the coming academic year 12 12 | National Council for Teacher Education
Vertical 4 - Platform for Content Creation by Teachers DIKSHA allows teachers and head of schools to create content Using the platform, teachers can create content relevant to their context Teachers can showcase the content created by them to all users Content meant for general viewing shall be curated by State/UTs 13 | National Council for Teacher Education

Vertical 5 - School Leadership Platform DIKSHA will provide an exclusive platform for school principals, vice-principals and head of schools School leaders will have access to content to improve their leadership skills and tools to create new content on this platform 15 | National Council for Teacher Education
Verticals 6,7,8 - Communication, Innovation and Assessments* Communication: To enable Centre and States to make announcements and issue news, circulars, directions, regulations and other official notifications to teachers Innovation: To enable sharing of best practices amongst the teacher community and innovative organizations.
