Title I-A Program What is Title I-A ? Title I-A is United States Government s largest education assistance program for schools. Funds are used to provide programs to help children who are struggling in reading and math. Extra help (in addition to what they learn during math and reading time in the classroom) Funding provided under ESEA Oregon Department of Education 3
Parent/Guardian Rights Under ESSA Right to request teacher qualifications Request opportunities to meet with staff for parent involvement Participate in decisions affecting your child Review school s Title I program and make suggestions Participate in school activities Oregon Department of Education 4

Our Data/How are we doing? 22-23 State Testing Data: Grade 3 ELA: 59% (State Ave = 40%) Grade 8 Math: 38% (State Ave= 26%) ELA and Math Economically Disadvantaged at same Achievement Level as All Students 22-23 DIBELS Data: Average k-8 growth to core = 28% Oregon Department of Education 6
Design of our Program Schoolwide Program A schoolwide program uses its Title allocation to upgrade the entire educational program of the school in order to raise academic achievement for ALL students at the school. No longer are students or teachers labeled Title I, but instead all students and all the teachers at the school use Title I dollars to improve the school s entire academic program. What does our program look like? Cove School focuses T! resources to the employment of two classroom instructional assistants focused upon implementing literacy strategies. Assessments and Monitoring Assessments our school uses: State Testing DIBELS (Literacy) EZCBM (Math) Publisher provided pre and post instructional assessments Notification of your child s assessment results Provided and discussed at conferences. Mailed otherwise. Progress monitoring process Weekly staff meetings and monthly Charter Council meetings with regular review of data growth Oregon Department of Education 8
Family Involvement Requirements District Level Family Involvement Policy Annual meeting during back-to-school events School Level Family Involvement Plan Organized, ongoing activities in planning, reviewing, improving, and evaluating the Title I school wide program.
