Definition
 
Conjunction is a joining word which joins together two or
more words/ sentences into one sentence.
Example:
Slow 
and
 steady
He is a good cricketer, 
but
 he is not selected for the final match
Poor child died 
before
 he reached hospital
 
Types of Conjunction
 
1)
Coordinating Conjunction 
 Used to connect word,
clauses and phrases of equal rank or importance (and,
but, or, nor, for, yet, so)
And 
 Combine two words/ sentences/ ideas
But 
 Connect contrast ideas
Or 
 Express a choice between two things
Nor 
 Combine two negated words/ sentences
For 
 Conjunction of purpose or reason
Yet 
 Express something that has not happened but you
expect it to happen
So -  Conjunction of result or consequence
