Our Values High standards of SHEC leadership and performance Standard applies to all OTML sites and personnel We are committed to continuous improvement All OTML personnel, including contractors, shall be appropriately trained Mobile Plant and Equipment
How Will We Meet the Standard OTML personnel shall be assessed and given the appropriate level of training to ensure their safety. Visitors to OMTL projects and sites shall undergo an induction that is appropriate to their role. Mobile Plant and Equipment
Competency Based Training OTML s competency based learning system takes into consideration: SHEC obligations Activity based hazards and risks Individual roles Workforce composition Minimum compliance requirements Required qualifications and competencies Mobile Plant and Equipment
Competency Based Training Training specifications: What is required to meet identified competencies Resources Trainer / Assessor Records Periodic reassessment. When developing training programs, consider: Best practice Legal / Regulatory compliance Conformance against SHEC competency standards. Mobile Plant and Equipment
Inductions and Awareness Training General Induction: Every person working at or visiting an OTML site shall receive a general induction. The general induction will discuss SHEC risks relevant to the area they are working or visiting. Role specific inductions and workplace orientations include components of OTML s competency based training system. Awareness training is an ongoing requirement at OTML. Mobile Plant and Equipment
Personal Training Plans Inductions are essential prior to commencement of work on an OTML project or site. All visitors to OTML projects and sites must undergo a SHEC induction that s appropriate for their visit. Every OTML employee and contractor shall have an individual training plan that is in line with: - Activities they perform - Work location - Level of risk/hazards associated with their job. Personal Training Plans Minimum Requirements Competency based training must be done within a reasonable timeframe of commencement with OTML. Minimum requirements: - SHEC IMS awareness training - Life Saving Rules - Risk assessment process and SHEC risk registers - Identification of hazards - At risk behaviour - Operational controls - Job specific technical training - Change management - Incident management and investigation - Role specific SHEC accountabilities - Cultural awareness - Emergency response Supervisors and managers shall receive SHEC leadership training. Planning and Delivery Managers are required to approve development, scheduling and delivery of training. The following points are considered: Target audience Learning objectives Facilities Continuous review Mobile Plant and Equipment
Competency Assessments Trainers and Assessors must be current and qualified to deliver training. Types of assessments: Approved written and verbal assessments On the job observations Training programs shall recognise an individual s current competencies. Nationally recognised standards must be signed off by a RTO. Mobile Plant and Equipment
Recruitment Recruitment is carried out using defined criteria: Job description/s Job specifications Identification of critical roles or statutory positions Qualifications or competencies SHEC requirements Mobile Plant and Equipment
