  14. Chessington Smart Survey Results Man dressed in all black that sits outside North Parade Sainsbury's intimidating women. There can an uncomfortable feeling in the evening between the station and KFC ; gathering s of youths Travellers blocking slip roads. E scooters. Parking issues (There is detailed parking information later in the meeting) Litter on all shopping parades. We would like more information about shop lifting, and criminal damage in these local shops. We all are aware of criminal damage being carried out at Sainsbury s North Parade. How often does this happen and how often are shop lifter's detected? Again, large groups of youths congregate outside KFC they then attend Churchfields, just simply follow the trial of rubbish. Over the past 3 years despite living so close to Churchfields I try not to visit as mob rules down there, the youths don't care.

  15. More police presence would certainly deter criminal activity and make people feel safer in the Borough. Speeding by cars & motorbikes up & down Bridge Road, Moor Lane & Chessington Road. Restricted line of sight down Bridge road through Chessington North Rail bridge when exiting Parbury Rise caused by high top van parking which is not illegal but extremely dangerous. Chessington Smart Survey Results Regular Drug use in the flats at the entrance of Garrison Lane. Strong smell of cannabis in the mornings. Am concerned about the number of motorised scooters as some use the roads without safety clothing or lights, or speed on pavements, all probably without insurance or any form of training on legal issues. It would be good to see more Police patrolling within the local area. This seems to happen less and less. I totally appreciate, that you have other pressures on your time, but in my area the garages are broken into on a regular basis, we have 'locals' dumping their rubbish in the Close as well!!! We have come across youngsters in their teens smoking drugs in West Rd, Malden Rushett in the garage block at the end of the cul de sac I would love to see a continued crack down on drug dealers on Woodgate Ave and the surrounding area. Cat thefts are a concern, there's several Honda vehicles in Stokesby Road several have already have the cat stolen.

  16. Policing of anti social behaviour might be easier if we could keep the neighbourhood clean and tidy, which can be difficult with businesses such as KFC in the area. Also graffiti should be removed around the North Parade and the Chessington North bridge, which would help to raise standards and hopefully make the police role easier. We need people to be proud to live in Chessington and not feel that we are the forgotten end of the Borough Most of the time I feel safe in the Chessington North neighbourhood. There are times when I don't, usually in the dark, and when I notice people who seem suspicious to me. I personally don't mind when young people meet in public parks, as long as they do not cause any harm to themselves or others. Chessington Smart Survey Results Generally feels safe during the day and police patrols are welcomed When you see the local team, they are great. Have been very helpful in some issues I've raised. But 'we' do need more reassurance patrols. Normally our area is usually quiet. I have seen police on the beat walking around the village Firstly excellent making it a Chessington wide Survey much better still if it was called the RBK South of the Borough Survey. Found it very easy to report things as not trying to think what ward it occurred and anything in the SOB affects us all. Is it correct Simon is taking retirement? Have not seen the street presence at the level we had before the Pandemic throughout the SOB or that is the perception. I know that budgets are tight, but it would be nice to see the Bobby on the beat more often. Usually the only time I see a policeman is when he s whizzing past with blues and twos.

  17. There seems to be a lot of cannabis being smoked in the area. Sometimes this is in houses but you can smell it all around the streets so it's very strong. As my daughter said - everyone knows you are in Chessy when you say "can you smell weed? On the whole I am quite satisfied with the local area and the local police team, who are always friendly and polite. It would be nice to have more police walking around keeping an eye on things and engaging with the local community more to find out what is going on. Chessington Smart Survey Results You seem to be doing as best you can with the limited resources at your disposal, however, recently my grand- daughter was told by the 999 desk that they were unable to do anything after 21.30 on a Sunday night. She had called the service because being alone in our house she was made aware that the doorbell was pressed several times and being alone she did not answer the door. Now, whether you have resources to investigate at the time or not, I am surprised that the answer given suggests that no staff were available after a certain time. Presumably for a serious crime event, resources would be found!! Our local guy is always friendly And always got a smile on his face. I think he has made a big difference to the area. Being near our local schools has helped with bad parking etc We are very pleased that as the covid related restrictions are being relaxed and the future of local police engagement with the community is being considered. We hope that a significant number of meeting's with the community will be undertaken in the immediate future. We think that the community and police relationship has seriously withered in the last two years. I used to see the Police team but rarely these days, I do sometimes see PCSO's who are good for engagement but are little or no threat to large groups smoking cannabis or causing ASB, it gets to the stage where I feel sorry for the PCSO having no PPE should he/she need to deal with any public order.
