  4. Benefits Annual Open Enrollment Retirees and Surviving Spouses NOVEMBER 2 16 To continue with your current plan elections through Caltech you don t have to do anything! If you would like to make changes to your plan election(s) for 2021 you can do so by calling the Caltech Retiree Service Center. Changes must be done by November 16. Annual Open Enrollment is a good time to sign up to have Mercer automatically deduct the monthly premium from your bank account. In late December you will receive a Confirmation Statement of your 2021 plan elections, defined dollar credits (DDCs), and premiums. 3

  5. Whats NOT Changing in 2021 The Caltech Retiree Service Center administers your retiree plans, billing, and website. Service Center employees are available to take your calls Monday Friday 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. Discovery Benefits, LLC a Wex company, administers your HRA Caltech medical, dental and vision health insurance providers and plans You will be enrolled in the same Aetna, Kaiser, or HRA plan you had in 2020 Your Caltech Retiree Life Insurance policy will not change Monthly maintenance fee of ($13.40) included in your medical rates or deducted from your ongoing monthly HRA account will remain the same. 4

  6. New for 2021! Defined Dollar Credits (DDCs) will be 2% higher Aetna is updating the Pre-65 prescription drug formulary. If you are affected, you will be notified by Aetna. For Post-65 plans , Aetna preferred pharmacies will offer lower generic copays Members using Preferred pharmacies will have lower generic copays ($1 less for a 30-day supply, $2 less for a 90-day supply). Aetna Medicare HMO members will get a new ID card in the mail Caltech added supplemental benefits to the Aetna and Kaiser Medicare Advantage plans: Meal Benefit (following inpatient hospital stay): Aetna provides up to 14 meals Kaiser provides up to 3 meals per day up to 4 weeks Teladoc Benefit: Aetna plans include Teladoc (PCP copay applies) Does not apply to Value Plan 5

  12. Turning 65 In 2021? Medicare Part A & B All Caltech sponsored Medicare plans require enrollment in both Medicare Parts A and B If you are turning 65 in 2021 be sure to enroll in Medicare PRIOR to your 65th birthday. You can enroll online at www.ssa.gov or by visiting or calling your local Social Security office You should begin the enrollment process 3 months prior to your 65th birthday. The earlier the better as the pandemic has extended Medicare s processing time. It can take up to 10 weeks for Medicare to process your application for Medicare Part B. To ensure you have Part B by the 1st of the month you turn 65 submit your enrollment form to Social Security early! 11

Turning 65 In 2021 (continued) Reminder About Medicare Part D and the Caltech Plans: If you enroll in a Caltech sponsored Medicare plan; it is important you do not enroll in a separate Medicare Part D plan because: Part D benefits are integrated into all Caltech sponsored Medicare plans, which means you do not need a separate Part D plan If you enroll in a Part D plan outside of the Caltech sponsored Medicare plan, you will be automatically dis-enrolled from your Caltech sponsored medical plan Contact the Caltech Retiree Service Center if you have any questions regarding what you need to do when becoming eligible for Medicare. 12
