Proposed Educational Task Groups Proposed Educational Task Groups The Education Strategy Group (ESG) will be responsible for developing the overall programme of work and deciding priorities The ESG will produce a report for the BHNOG quarterly meetings ET groups in Table 1 will form the basis of the BHNOG education strategy These are either: embedded programmes of work or prioritised programmes of work
Educational Strategy Educational Strategy update update Name/Description of Educational Intervention Educational practice 2021 Current Status 2022 Non Non- -Medical Authorisation of Blood Transfusion (NABT): Medical Authorisation of Blood Transfusion (NABT): qualification for advanced practitioner staff other than medical staff whose practice supports the authorisation of blood Full review of delivery and content via HEIW Embedded Senior Student Assistantship (SSA): Senior Student Assistantship (SSA): 1/2-day practical training in transfusion practice converting theoretical knowledge into practical application Under review based on user feedback Embedded All Wales Transfusion Competencies: All Wales Transfusion Competencies: Collection, administration & pre-transfusion sampling competencies. Assessed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Due review 2024 Embedded Specialist Registrar (SpR) Training Specialist Registrar (SpR) Training: transfusion educational programme delivered by Welsh Blood Service to support SpR transfusion knowledge Improved SPR training programme commenced 2022 Embedded Learn Blood Transfusion (LBT): Learn Blood Transfusion (LBT): Established e-learning programme developed and managed by UK Blood Services. Currently investigating move to a different learning platform Work to move to another platform to improve compliance Priority for update SHOT inc. Human Factors (HF) Training SHOT inc.
