Development of Malawi's eHealth Strategy was completed in December 2014, following the WHO/ITU eHealth Strategy Development Toolkit approval in December 2015. The strategy had a two-year implementation period that expired in 2016. Currently, the Health Sector Strategic Plan is in progress, with the HIS Strategy advancing through key stages, including indicator definition and stakeholder mapping. Priority areas for implementation include strengthening HIS systems, expanding electronic systems at the patient level, and enhancing ICT infrastructure. Collaboration efforts focus on financial resource mobilization, technical assistance, and promoting ICT for achieving sustainable development goals.
