CHIPs (4 year olds) participants are broken out into two separate hours to keep numbers manageable and more direct instruction / correction opportunities. CHIP participants practiced Saturday mornings Morgan B, 9:30 or 10;30 am, with the on-ice sessions conducted successfully by Kelly Reed Hockey. Mites (5 year olds) and are placed into four equal teams, determined by the Mass Practice evaluations conducted by coaches and league helpers. Tykes (6 & 7 year olds) players are placed into 12 equal teams, determined by the Mass Practice evaluations conducted by coaches and league helpers. Mite participants played games on split ice at Morgan Firestone on Sunday mornings 8am, with practices on shared ice on Saturday mornings at 7am or 8am.

  7. Initiation Director Report Tyke participants practiced Saturday mornings with a Sunday morning game. Games followed half ice model as mandated by Hockey Canada, and players were offered an additional hour of development each week, run by the Leo Paone. The addition of an outside development professional has continued to be well-received by our parents and coaches and was well attended. Next year, Hockey Canada has mandated that the full season remain in the half-ice format for 5, 6 and 7 year olds with 8 year olds going to full ice mid-season. A Tyke MD team consisting of 20 players from the Tyke program participated in Tyke Jamborees throughout the season.

  8. Junior House League Report 2018/19 overall success Minor Atom (2009-2010) 4 teams Major Atom (2008-2009) 4 teams Peewee (2006-2007) 4 teams Transition year for 2010 age players played with Minor Atom with changes to full ice/half ice for ages 2011 and younger. Minor atom had good parity between all players. Challenges with team size will be reviewed for 2019/20 Ongoing development partnership with Pro Hockey Life Academy has been met with positive feedback. Super Saturday was a success there were some very exciting games and between the 3 Junior HL divisions, there were 5 overtime/shoot out games great competition.

  9. Junior House League Report Plans for 2019/20 season 2011 age players will have a transition year half ice for first half of season then moving to full ice for second half of season. Ongoing discussions on how to format this age (Major Novice) to ensure competition, while making sure participants enjoy their experience. Reviewing team sizes to ensure teams can field rosters each week Atom going back to one division (2009-2010) with return of Novice program.

  10. Senior House League Report Overall had a successful 2018/2019 hockey season 4 Bantam Teams Shortage of House League goalies this year, but solved with a couple of goalies playing up and one playing down from Midget 5 Midget Teams Difficult juggling the schedule with an odd-number of teams (resulting in extra ice usage), but driven by registration numbers 4 Juvenile Teams from Ancaster, 2 from Chedoke Some challenges with enforcement and suspensions with the interlocked division, and had to fold one team halfway through the season. Next season plan to fully integrate the Chedoke players to avoid a one centre vs. the other mentality

  11. Senior House League Report 2019 - 2019 Plans Electronic Game Sheets Interlock where necessary by numbers Looking into video recording for assistance in enforcement

  12. Rep Hockey Report This past season we were pleased to field the following teams: Minor Atom A Major Atom A Atom AE Minor Peewee A Minor Peewee AE Major Peewee A Major Pewee AE Minor Bantam A Minor Bantam AE Major Bantam A Major Bantam AE Minor Midget A Tri-County Finalists: Minor Bantam AE Major Bantam A Tournaments Won: Major Peewee Guelph Power Play Minor Bantam A Pittsburgh Minor Bantam AE Kitchener, Stoney Creek (A Level)

  13. Equipment Report The AMHL upgraded all House League jerseys this year bringing some long overdue design changes to showcase teams in their favorite NHL colors The AMHL in partnership with Glanbrook Minor Hockey undertook a brand new process for all rep fittings this year where we saw over 350+ skaters over the course of six nights The AMHL partnered with Breakaway Distributing as the main provider for all rep jerseys and will continue the relationship for all House League, IP and Select programs for the 2019/2020 season All house league goalie equipment was returned from the 2018/2019 season We provided a few loaner sets for new goalies to try out during spring 3v3

  14. Feedback from our rep membership in regards to fitting nights was that it went smoothly and all orders have been placed with the different suppliers The league provided more than 30 sets of goalie equipment for all IP, Tyke and Novice programs again this year The leagued provided updated equipment for IP program for better on ice tools Mini nets, pylons, rebounders, other We continue to work with major corporate sponsors for jersey and sock options Atom = McDonalds AtoMc Novice = Tim Horton s

  15. Director of Sponsorship Report The AMHL Sponsorship Program had a weak year without a Director in place. Tim Hortons (Timbits) and McDonalds (AtoMc) programs were very helpful in providing in-kind jersey/socks for the younger House League age groups, but no more cash donations to accompany the equipment as in previous years beginning next season. Froster and Dodge Caravan also ran great sponsorship programs, but heavy on the administrative side. We could better utilize these programs with more hands-on assistance.

  16. Secretarys Report Board followed procedures for meetings in form and substance All approved minutes are posted on the website for membership viewing

Treasurers 2018/2019 Highlights Ancaster Minor Hockey is in a very healthy financial state Revenue (adjusted for Hockey Day) was down 4.5% over last season to $766,517 (unadjusted down 9.5%) Key drivers: Reduced number of Rep Teams Change in mix of registrations and slightly lower overall numbers Decrease in reserves to $154,272 (decline of $55,646) Key drivers: Lower revenue not offset by enough of an ice use reduction Culmination of development focus (both House League and Rep)
