  7. Assemblies Mainly held in the Upper School Hall. Special Mention still on Friday- return cup for following Thursday.

  8. Reading Children will bring their book bags home every day. Reading - children are asked to read at least three times a week, from a free choice book. We ask parents to hear their child read and check their understanding of what they have read. This information should be recorded in the child s reading diary. Guided reading books are not sent home in KS2. Children read their guided books at a more challenging level in school with the class teacher so the home readers are there for them to practise and enjoy. Children may change their home readers as soon as they have finished them. The Class Teacher will direct them to the correct level. Extra support or extension work will be given to children within school, as appropriate to their current learning needs.

  9. Homework All children are encouraged to spend time learning their multiplication tables. Homework: Small weekly tasks in Maths or English or both! There will also be a termly project linked to current topic. The children are encouraged to use ICT resources and the use of information books either at home or in the library.
