The diplomas are a stand-alone qualification (such as A levels), particularly suitable for those wishing to return to education. It is an equivalent to 3 A levels, delivered in 10 months (September start) and 6 months (January start - Business and Humanities only). The qualification is internally assessed which means that the teaching teams select the most suitable assessment instruments (essays, reports, exams & presentations), set assessment deadlines and make assessment decisions (marking and grading). These decisions are later verified by an external moderator. Access to Higher Education diplomas There is no overall grade and there is no one final exam - each unit is graded and counts towards the overall credits, reflecting your true strengths and accounting for the ongoing development. The diplomas are revalidated every 5 years by the Awarding Organisation so their content is up to date and relevant. The diplomas enable entry on to year 1 degree programmes to a wide range of universities in the UK as they accrue UCAS points.
