Accelerating Systemic Change Network Inaugural Workshop Summary
The Accelerating Systemic Change Network held its inaugural workshop at Howard Hughes Medical Institute in July 2016 to address the lack of coordination in improving higher education. With a vision to become a professional hub for change researchers in STEM education, the network aims to enhance individual and collective efforts through open, interdisciplinary collaboration. Network founders were selected for their active involvement and diverse connections to shape the network's development. Key questions for groups include exploring unique offerings of the network and determining optimal structures for growth and support.

ASCN Why? RATIONALE There are a lot of good people doing a lot of good things to improve higher education. Lack of coordination limits the ability to learn and improve. We want to coordinate, catalyze, and support network members capture what is known and what needs to be learned about leading and evaluating change efforts in undergraduate and graduate STEM education. We want the network to help maximize the individual and collective efforts of network members.
ASCN What? VISION ASCN will be the professional home for change researchers and change agents working in higher education. We envision an open, interdisciplinary, professional network and intellectual home for individuals and groups engaged in creating and/or studying change in STEM higher education in the full range of institutional settings.
ASCN You are the founders We invited you because you are active in these areas and connected to a wide variety of other networks and associations. You have the perspective to help shape the network as it moves from ideas to action.
Questions for your small groups What can the network offer/do that other networks and associations are not offering or doing? What structures will best support development and growth of the network? Membership Meetings Virtual connections
