BY DEFINITION, A CONSPIRACY IS WHEN A GROUP OF PEOPLE SECRETLY PLAN TO DO SOMETHING UNLAWFUL OR HARMFUL. A CONSPIRACY THEORY IS AN EXPLANATION OF AN EVENT (OR AN ENTITY) WHICH BLAMES A PARTICULAR GROUP OF PEOPLE (MOST OFTEN AN INFLUENTIAL ORGANIZATION) FOR THAT EVENT.
An example of a conspiracy theory Sept 11, 2001 was a false flag operation A false flag operation is an attack by the military on one of its own targets in order to justify a war. The theory here is that the attacks were staged by the Americans and used to justify wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A related belief is that the towers were brought down by controlled demolition, not hijacked aircraft. This is not the first time a false flag operation theory has involved America. There s also evidence that America s involvement in the Vietnam War was triggered by a similar incident.
Example #2: The New World Order According to this conspiracy, the world is secretly controlled by an elite group, who are waiting for the right time to seize power openly, and form a single totalitarian government that rules the entire planet. This theory is sometimes related to the illuminati. In 1990, theorists became excited when George HW Bush used the term new world order in a speech to Congress on the topic of ending the Cold War (this was a war between Russia and America). To be noted: Bush delivered this speech on September 11th. Hmmmm
Who is Alex Jones? Alex Jones runs infowars.com and prisonplanet.tv He also has a radio talk show. He is involved in many conspiracy theories, amongst: Global Warming is a hoax Vaccinations are harmful The American government is hiding the truth of 9-11 The Boston Bombings are more than meets the eye The government can create and control tornadoes to use as weapons
Have any conspiracy theories been proven true? In short, YES. Remember (or maybe your parents do) when crazy people insisted that the American government was spying on them, looking at their Facebook accounts, listening in on their phone calls, and covertly checking their private emails? Not so crazy. Edward Snowden (who is currently in Russia, and wanted by the American government) released information to the public that proved it was true. =
These are important questions when looking at any conspiracy theory 1. Does it make sense and/or is it reasonable? 2. Is there a means or motive available? 3. Is there enough evidence to support the theory? 4. Does the conspiracy actually explain what happened?

Conspiracy #1 The 9/11 terrorist attacks on the USA (2001) were planned by the American government
Whats the story? Many conspiracy theories claim that President George W. Bush and/or individuals in his administration knew about the attacks beforehand and purposefully allowed them to occur because the attacks would generate public support for militarization, expansion of the police state, and other intrusive foreign and domestic policies by which they would benefit.
Conspiracy #2 A crashed UFO was discovered in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.
Whats the story? The Roswell UFO Incident involved the recovery of materials near Roswell, New Mexico, USA, in July 1947. By the early 1990s, UFO researchers had interviewed several hundred people [11] who had, or claimed to have had, a connection with the events at Roswell in 1947 and hundreds of documents were also obtained. Their conclusions were that at least one alien craft had crashed in the Roswell vicinity, that aliens, some possibly still alive, were recovered, and that a massive cover-up of any knowledge of the incident was put in place.
Conspiracy #3 On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Theorists claim that the US government released false reports to cover up the whole affair.
Whats the story? Theorists claim that there was more than one shooter and that Lee Harvey Oswald was not responsible for the sole killing of the President. Some believe that Oswald was either a patsy or worked for the FBI, KGB or the mafia. To this day the debate continues about how many shooters there were, where the shooters were and who was really behind the assassination of President Kennedy.
Conspiracy #4 William Shakespeare, the playwright responsible for penning a number of plays such as Romeo and Juliet, did not write any of his own work.
Whats the story? Since there is very little historical information about Shakespeare, conspiracy theorists believe that he could not have possibly written the plays, but was used as the author to cover up the true identity of the brilliant poet. Many believe that Shakespeare himself could not have had the education to write such profound work. The most plausible authors include Christopher Marlowe, Ben Johnson, Francis Bacon or Sir Walter Raleigh.
