which is currently recruiting for their 16

A year long program established to help prepare
potential  leaders for futures in special education
Currently being run under the direction of Mary Beth
Bruder, Director of the University Center for Excellence
in Developmental Disabilities – UCEDD and a statewide
steering committee

The UCEDD is part of a national network of centers
authorized under the Developmental Disabilities
Act. The purpose is to assure that indiviuals with
developmental disabilities and their families
participate in the design of and have access to
needed community services, individualized
supports and other forms of assistance that
promote self-determination, independence,
productivity, integration and inclusion in all facets
of the community through culturally competent
programs.

competency-based program as illustrated by state
and national speakers and learning activities that

July 15-16, 2024 including an overnight stay
(funded by program).
School year sessions will be a combination of mid-
week early evening zoom sessions and
approximately 5 in-person all day Saturday
sessions.
Attendance at all sessions is expected unless
excused by program leaders.
All content is archived on the Canvas learning
platform.

Program funded by CT State Dept. of Education, Bureau of Special Education, currently recruiting for 3rd cohort. Year-long initiative to prepare future special education leaders under Mary Beth Bruder's direction. UCEDD, a national network focusing on developmental disabilities, operates under 4 core functions and emphasizes Early Childhood intervention, Schools, Health, and Quality of Life. Current status: Recruiting 25 members for the upcoming summer program, running until June 2025 with no cost, not a replacement for 092 certification.
