This Week of Respect features various activities promoting kindness, anti-bullying, and respect among students. From wearing blue in honor of World Bullying Prevention Day to reflecting on respect and promoting acts of kindness, the week is filled with educational and inspiring events aimed at creating a positive and respectful school environment.

Week of Respect 2023-2024
Theme: Wear BLUE in honor of World Bullying Prevention Day. Monday "Strong people stand up from themselves. But the strongest people stand up for others." Students will watch an Anti-Bullying Message in Homeroom Take the UPSTANDER Pledge - pledges collected by teacher - school counselor will collect Receive an UPSTANDER nametag to wear all day BEST Anti-BULLYING Video for Students Top School Motivational Speaker Jeremy Anderson, gives a gripping and timely message about bully. Tuesday "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." During Academic Lab, students will view the view on Respect. Students will complete a respect self-reflection worksheet Teacher can create a dialogue about the worksheet using the following questions: After reflecting on your ability to be respectful, do you think it is always easy to show respect? What could make it difficult? Would anyone like to share how YOU show respect at school, at home, and to others? Wednesday A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. Student Assembly - Internet and Cell Phone Safety 8:45am-9:30am - 7th and 8th grades 9:45am-10:30am - 5th and 6th grades Words Matter! - Kindness Station during lunch Students will have the ability to write kind messages on a giant banner for all to read.
Thursday "Be the change you wish to see in the world." During homeroom or Academic Lab, students will watch Kid President s Pep Talk to be inspired to #BetheChange A Pep Talk from Kid President to You We all need a little encouragement every now and then. Kid President, knowing this, has put together a video you can play each morning as you wake up or to share with your friend who needs a kick in the right direction. Take a moment and spread some encouragement. "It's everybody's duty to give the world a reason to dance."
