  2. Dear Eagles Family, The year has kicked off with great energy, and it has been a pleasure meeting each grade at the academic orientation evening. These gatherings have played a crucial role in establishing a strong connection between parents, the school, and our learners. MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL S DESK The theme for the upcoming week is Integrity, which will be the focal point of discussions during assemblies and tutor classes. It's an opportunity for us to reflect on and emphasize the importance of integrity in all aspects of our lives. A big congratulations to our Edgemead athletes for their outstanding performance at the annual interschool athletics event. Their dedication, preparation, and enthusiastic cheers contributed to a well- deserved victory. I extend my pride to all our athletes, cheerleaders, and the service committee for creating lasting memories during this event. Special commendation to Ms. Van der Zandt and Mr. Van der Berg for their efforts in organizing and ensuring the smooth running of the event. Looking ahead, please be aware that School Governing Body elections are scheduled for March. Further details will be shared with you in the near future. Your participation and engagement in this process are vital for the continued success of our school. Thank you for your ongoing support, and let's continue to make this academic year one of growth, achievement, and unity. Best regards, Mr J. Erasmus

  6. Communication at EHS - Microsoft Teams: All EHS learners have been given their Office 365 logins/email addresses via their class tutors and Dig Lit lessons. This information can be found on pg.2 and 3 of the learner diary. We would like our learners to take responsibility for their schoolwork and also prepare them for life beyond EHS. We therefore share all important information like the assessment timetables and outlines with our learners via the Microsoft Teams platform. We would also like to encourage parents to use their child's EHS login details to access this important information via Teams. You can login to the Teams app using your child's EHS login on more than one device simultaneously. More information can be found on our school website under Academics >> Exams & Tests >> Scroll all the way to the bottom for an instructional video and important links. Communication Avoid long queues at the cafeteria - Karri App: To help alleviate the long queues at the cafeteria, EHS makes use of the Karri app which will allow learners to order and pay for food for first break, second break or after school. Parents may also use the Karri app. Parents and learners can make use of the Karri app by following the steps below and using the unique Karri Code: 1.Download / install the Karri app on your phone. 2.Login or create an account with your school email address preferably (but any email address will work) 3.If your password does not work, ask Karri to reset or assist with your password. For POPI compliance, they will not share your password with the school. 4.Once logged in, go to "Connections" in the Karri app 5.Click on "Subscribe" 6.Enter your unique Karri Code which you will receive from your teacher (pg. 3 in your learner diary) 7.You will now be linked to Edgemead High School and will be able to see all the collections (e.g. Cafeteria/Tuckshop, Events, etc.) under the "Collections" menu option 8.Order your food from the app for the relevant day and time 9.Pay via credit card or debit card on the app 10.Collect your order from the collections window at the cafeteria If you have any queries or require any assistance with the app, speak to Mr Thorne Kleinsmith or Mrs Monique Vellacott in the Robotics office in the Knowledge Hub. For any further support, please email Mrs Vellacott: mvellacott@edgemeadhigh.org.za Mrs M Vellacott
