Florida TRADE Grant Program Orientation
The Florida TRADE Grant Program Orientation helps individuals enhance skills, learn new skills, gain certifications, earn academic credits, and secure employment in the advanced manufacturing industry. With a $15 million grant awarded by the DOL, 12 colleges throughout Florida offer accelerated training programs targeting high-demand jobs, providing career counseling, job placements, and mentoring services. The program caters to students seeking careers, displaced workers, those at risk of job loss, individuals needing skills upgrade, and veterans transitioning from service. Certifications offered enable participants to obtain college degrees, and short-term training includes courses in CPT, drafting, design, welding, and AutoCAD. The Certified Production Technician course articulates to college credits and costs $1,100 inclusive of tuition, books, fees, and assessments. $15 million grant awarded by the DOL 12 colleges throughout Florida Florida TRADE s mission is to develop and deliver accelerated training programs that upon completion would allow program participants to: 1. Upgrade current skills and knowledge 2. Learn new skills 3. Gain industry-recognized technical certifications 4. Earn academic credits toward college degrees 5. Procure employment Advanced Manufacturing: Technology Based Manufacturing:The making of goods or wares by manual labor or by machinery, especially on a large scale.
