For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  7. 2. A Christian is someone who bears fruit of conversion. Colossians 1:10 (ESV) so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

  13. 3. A Christian is a committed follower of Jesus Christ as Lord. Romans 10:9 (ESV) because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 14. 3. A Christian is a committed follower of Jesus Christ as Lord. 1 John 2:3 4 (ESV) And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says I know him but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

  15. 4. A Christian is someone who has believed fully in the work of Jesus Christ for their salvation. John 1:12 (ESV) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 3:16 (ESV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

  17. 4. A Christian is someone who has believed fully in the work of Jesus Christ for their salvation. Colossians 2:14 (ESV) by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

  18. 4. A Christian is someone who has believed fully in the work of Jesus Christ for their salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV) For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

  19. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. 2 Timothy 1:14 (ESV) By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. Ephesians 3:16 17 (ESV) that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

  20. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. 1 Corinthians 3:16 (ESV) Do you not know that you are God s temple and that God s Spirit dwells in you?

  21. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. Ephesians 1:13 (ESV) In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

  22. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. Matthew 27:66 (ESV) So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.

  23. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. Ephesians 1:14 (ESV) who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

  24. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. Galatians 5:22 24 (ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self- control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

  25. 5. A Christian is someone who has God dwelling inside of them. John 16:13 (ESV) When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

  26. 6. A Christian is someone who has experienced a complete conversion. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

  27. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. John 3:3 (ESV) Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.

  28. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

  29. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Ephesians 2:1 5 (ESV) And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience

  30. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Ephesians 2:1 5 (ESV) among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved

  31. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Colossians 1:13 (ESV) He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son

  32. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:6 8 (ESV) We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

  33. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:9 11 (ESV) We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

  34. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:12 14 (ESV) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

  35. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:15 17 (ESV) What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed,

  36. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:18 20 (ESV) and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

  37. 7. A Christian is someone who has been born again. Romans 6:21 23 (ESV) But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
