  2. Agenda New entitlements from April 2024 for working parents Early years funding rates 2024/25 Accurate portal submissions Questions/comments

  3. New Entitlements Code required (to be dated the term before taking up the place) which mirrors the current 30 hours, this will be renamed the working parent eligibility code April 2024 Working parents of 2yos (the term after they are 2) may be eligible for 15 hours funding. This is different to the current 2yo funding which remains the same but will be renamed the disadvantaged 2yo entitlement September 2024 Working parents of children aged 9 23 months (term after 9 months) may be eligible for 15 hours funding. . September 2025 Working parents of children aged 9 + months (the term after 9 months birthday) and above may be entitled to 30 hours funding

Early Years Funding 2024/25 From 1stApril 2024 2 Year Old 8.31 per hour (increase of 2.65 on April 2023 rate) Disadvantaged Base Rate Working Parent of 2 Year Old Base Rate 3 & 4 Year Old Base Rate (Universal & Extended Hours) Deprivation Supplement 7.63 per hour (new rate) 5.16 per hour (increase of 20p on April 2023 rate) 1.00 per hour for up to 30 hours per child per week (equivalent) for 3 & 4 year olds attracting EYPP Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) Supplement 0.68 (increase of 6p on April 2023) per hour, up to 15 hours per child for children across all age groups, accessing the Early Years Entitlements Disability Access Fund (DAF) Increased to 910 (increase of 82 on April 2023 rate) per eligible child. Any child claiming DLA.

Accurate Portal Claims - Termly Portal Claim = Data Schools Funding Team use to make payments to schools - Submit ahead of deadline in order to pick up any potential queries. - The following should be included on your claim: All nursery and F2/reception children within the specified Date Of Birth range Parent/carer details if wishing to make an EYPP check

Accurate Portal Claims: Nursery Children 2 s/Rising 3 s Must be eligible for either disadvantaged or working parent entitlement Some schools self fund, but we advise you to check eligibility to receive funding you are entitled to Disadvantaged 2 year old entitlement - Parents apply through Ask Lion and an eligibility letter will be issued. Working Parent 2 year old entitlement Parents apply via HMRC and are given a code (if eligible need to apply and check code ahead of term) Children in this cohort could also be eligible for EYPP from April 2024, but can only receive this additional payment if they receive early years entitlements funding as well

  7. Funding Examples Example of a 15 hour place on a 2 year old disadvantaged base rate; o Basic 4,736.70(equivalent of 8.31 p/h) Hourly Rate EYPP = without o Basic Hourly Rate with EYPP = 5,124.30 p/a (equivalent of 8.99 p/h)

Accurate Portal Claims: Nursery Children 3 and 4 year olds Universal 15 hours funding All 3 and 4 year old children are entitled to 15 hours universal funding the term after their 3rdbirthday Working parent 30 hour funding Some 3 and 4 children are eligible for 30 hours funding and a code from HMRC needs to be obtained the term before The extended boxes will only open if there is a valid code i.e. it is in date and has an eligible from date the term before.

Accurate Portal Claims: EYPP/Deprivation Funding In order to check EYPP eligibility, parent/carer details need adding onto your headcount task If a child is eligible, they will attract an additional 68p for (2 year olds) and an additional 1.68 (for 3 and 4 s) for EYPP A deprivation supplement of 1 per child per hour is paid to 3 and 4 year old children who are eligible for EYPP

  11. Funding Examples Example of a 15 hour place on a 3 & 4 year old base rate; o Basic Hourly Rate without EYPP or Deprivation Supplement = 2,941.20 p/a (equivalent of 5.16 p/h) o Basic Supplement = 3,898.80 p/a (equivalent of 6.84 p/h) Hourly Rate EYPP & Deprivation with

  12. Accurate Portal Claims: Reception/F2 children Any children that fall in Date Of Birth range who attend Reception/F2 need to be added Only complete weeks, average hours per week and hours per term - Remove universal hours Decline to give parent/carer details as not eligible for EYPP
