  3. Dual Enrollment vs. Early College Dual Enrollment Typically uses traditional metrics such as GPA to identify students. Typically enrolled in coursework with college students but might include dedicated dual enrollment classes. Student enrolls in an online course or f2f course on college campus. Early College Uses multiple measures, targets underrepresented students. Dedicated course sections organized within pathways connected to a career. Student completes course at the high school with a university faculty member or on college campus. Calendar driven by district. Built in, class-level support. State-funded tuition and course materials. Calendar driven by university. Traditional support mechanisms. Course tuition and materials are typically paid for by the student and/or district.
