June is Pride Month, marked by events celebrating LGBTQ+ rights and diversity, rooted in the historic Stonewall riots of 1969. Embracing equality, dignity, and respect for all, it's a time to reflect, support, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Understanding the importance of unity and allyship, we strive to challenge discrimination and champion inclusivity.

  3. Pride Month 2020 Pride parades (also known as pride marches, pride events, and pride festivals) are outdoor events celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) social and self acceptance, achievements, legal rights and pride. Most pride events occur annually, and many take place around June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, an important moment in modern LGBTQ social movements.

  4. Pride Month 2020 Stonewall riots took place on June 28, 1969, between police and gay rights activists outside the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City. As the riots progressed, an international gay rights movement was born. In 1969 being LGBTQ+ was illegal in New York City. Gay bars were places of refuge for people to get safety from public harassment. Many of those bars were, however, subject to regular police harassment.

  5. Pride Month 2020 The riots outside the Stonewall Inn continued for the next five days. Although there had been other protests by gay groups, the Stonewall incident was perhaps the first time lesbians, gays, and transgender people saw the value in uniting behind a common cause. The Stonewall riots became an incredibly important moment in history.

  6. Pride Month 2020 Why is Pride month important? Everybody should be treated with dignity and respect, these are the fundamentals of human rights. The world is full of diversity and culture which needs to be embraced. However there is still so much unequality We all need to work together to support those around us who are a part of the LGBQT+ community What can you do?
