  3. What is Evangelism? Evangelism is to present Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to people, in order that they may come to put their trust in God through Jesus, to receive him as their Saviour, and serve him as their King in the fellowship of His Church. Simply put, the New Testament evangelism is communicating the Gospel. Anyone who faithfully tells the essential elements of God s salvation through Jesus is practicing evangelism. In the early days of His ministry, Jesus promised to make His followers fishers of men (Matthew 4:19). Training in Evangelism, by Rev Dr John Kwasi Fosu

  4. Biblical foundation You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name (John 15:16). But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."(Acts 1:8) That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are at Rome. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Romans 1:15-16). 9. Conclusion It is said that evangelism is the heartbeat of God. In a world where sin appears to reign in the life of most people without Christ to the extent that there are redefinitions of Christian terminologies such as marriage, increase in non- Christian religions, political confusion with the corresponding threat of national and tribal conflicts, the hope for this generation depends on the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The uniqueness of the ministry of evangelism is that it betters the lives of others both here and hereafter. Training in Evangelism, by Rev Dr John Kwasi Fosu
