  1. 1. The world is lost 2. Personal evangelism is a natural outgrowth of my deep and abiding concern for lost souls. 3. Personal evangelism is the responsibility of every Christian. 4. Personal evangelism begins and proceeds one person at a time. 5. Personal evangelism requires real effort and oftentimes hard work. 6. Planning for nothing, praying for nothing, hoping for nothing, dreaming of nothing and doing nothing WILL YIELD NOTHING! and so am I if I do nothing about it.

  2. What would happen if 1. We had a heart that grieved over the lost world? 2. We developed a true love for each individual lost soul? 3. We possessed a genuine desire to do something about it? 4. We walked the walk more than we talked the talk? 5. We viewed personal evangelism not just as a command to be dutifully obeyed but as a privilege to be eagerly pursued?

  3. I just dont have time. I m too busy. Too busy at what? What do you have time to do? There are many things in life that seem Urgent. It s all a matter of priorities.

  4. I just dont have time. I m too busy. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matt. 6:33; cf. Col. 1:18).

  5. I just dont have time. I m too busy. When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels (Mark 8:34-38).

  6. I just dont have time. I m too busy. Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, Lord, I will follow You wherever You go. And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head. Then He said to another, Follow Me. But he said, Lord, let me first go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house. But Jesus said to him, No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God (Luke 9:57-62).

  7. Thats the preachers job. I m doing my part. As long as someone else is obeying certain commands, does that mean I do not have to obey those commands? The Great Commission is God s command for all His children. You are the only Christian that some people will ever meet and talk to not your preacher.

  8. Thats the preachers job. I m doing my part. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matt. 28:19-20; cf. Mark 16:15-16).

  9. Thats the preachers job. I m doing my part. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ s behalf, be reconciled to God (2 Cor. 5:20). If you love Me, keep My commandments (John 14:15).

  10. I dont see anybody else doing it, so I must be doing fine. Is that really true? Nobody is involved in evangelism? Regardless, are fellow Christians my standard? If I don t observe other Christian duties being fulfilled, does that exempt me? Am I not responsible?

  11. I dont see anybody else doing it, so I must be doing fine. But why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things which I say? (Luke 6:46). Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Tim. 4:12).

  12. I dont see anybody else doing it, so I must be doing fine. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin (Jas. 4:17). But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding (2 Cor. 10:12).

  13. Ill just live a good example of faith; they ll figure it out. God has called us to be a good example, but He has called us to do more! Sinners will not learn the gospel by osmosis! GO and PREACH the gospel (Mark 16:15), TEACHING (Matt. 28:20).

  14. Ill just live a good example of faith; they ll figure it out. For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:13-17).

  15. Ill just live a good example of faith; they ll figure it out. Commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Tim. 2:2).

  16. I dont know enough Bible to do this right. What are you doing to learn more? Reality: none of us will ever know enough Bible. If you knew enough to obey the gospel, you know enough to tell others. Quickest way to learn the Bible: start teaching others. It s ok to say, I don t know. I ll find out. Some things were not intended to be known (Deut. 29:29).

  17. I dont know enough Bible to do this right. He arose and was baptized he received food, he was strengthened spent some days with the disciples Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God (Acts 9:18- 20). And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:1-2).

  18. I dont know enough Bible to do this right. Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:1-4).

  19. Religion is not the acceptable thing to talk about. But what sorts of topics do we discuss? Christians in the first century suffered persecution because they refused to give in to the social and even political pressure to not to speak at all (Acts 4:18). When a great persecution arose against the church [they] went everywhere preaching the word (Acts 8:1, 4).

  20. Religion is not the acceptable thing to talk about. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12).

  21. Religion is not the acceptable thing to talk about. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables (2 Tim. 4:1-4).

  22. Religion is not the acceptable thing to talk about. He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me (Luke 10:16).

  23. Im afraid of what my friends will think of me. If someone rejects the gospel, that s on them, not on us. They re not rejecting us! He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me (Luke 10:16). We should be more concerned about what God thinks of us than what our friends think of us. It should be our friends who we want to teach the most. Pray and ask for boldness (Eph. 6:18-20; Acts 4:24-29).

  24. Im afraid of what my friends will think of me. But He turned and said to Peter, Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men (Matt. 16:23). Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends (John 15:13).

  25. Im afraid of what my friends will think of me. For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day (2 Tim. 1:12; cf. Rom. 1:16). For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels (Mark 8:38).

  26. People dont want to listen and are not interested. Jesus knew that would be the case with some (Matt. 10:14-15). Nevertheless, there are those who will listen and are searching, like Cornelius in Acts 10. It is our job to find the good soil by scattering the seed (the word of God) upon every soil. The POWER is in the GOSPEL, not us (Rom. 1:16).

  27. People dont want to listen and are not interested. And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, We will hear you again on this matter (Acts 17:32).

  28. I dont know how. I don t know what to say. There s no perfect method or THE WAY to do it. Find someone who s experienced and talk to them. If you knew enough to obey the gospel, you know enough to talk to others. It is one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread. Pray. Ask God for wisdom and help.

  29. I dont know how. I don t know what to say. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (Jas. 1:5). Yet you do not have because you do not ask (Jas. 4:2). And the LORD, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed (Deut. 31:8).

  30. I dont have many contacts. We know more people than we realize. We come into contact with lost souls every day. We must train our eyes to not just see people! We must train our eyes to see souls! Jesus said, Do you not say, There are still four months and then comes the harvest ? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! (John 4:35).

  31. Times are challenging: We have to keep our distance from people and limit contact. We usually figure out a way to do the things that we want to do. Urgent things seem to find a way of getting done, even in difficult times. The abundance of technology available today ought to open doors. Early Christians were persecuted and commanded by authorities to keep their distance from people and no longer spread the gospel (Acts 4-5). Yet, early Christians, even though they were scattered (Acts 8:4), found a way to teach the gospel to others, regardless of the circumstances.

  32. Times are challenging: We have to keep our distance from people and limit contact. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard (Acts 4:20). But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).

  33. Times are challenging: We have to keep our distance from people and limit contact. And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ (Acts 5:40-42). And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls (2 Cor. 12:15).

  34. The Best Part of the Great Commission and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matt. 28:20). A Heavenly Reminder & Reassurance: This is HIS Work! We are NOT alone! We are NOT to worry!
