  7. The Immodest Father The Biblical Concept of Modest And Immodest Dress Indecency Adam & Eve (Gen 3:7-13,21) Before sin entered the world and their innocence removed, they were not aware of their nakedness After they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they were aware of their nakedness and they became ashamed (vs. 7) They sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves They still believed they were naked and hid themselves from God s presence (vs.8-10 Cf Jn 21:7)

(1 Tim 2:9 10 KJV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God s. (1 Cor 6:20 KJV)

  12. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;

  14. The Immodest Father The Biblical Concept of Modest And Immodest Dress The New Testament puts our motives in check (Heb 4:12 Cf Matt 5:27-28) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb 4:12 KJV) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (Matt 5:27 28 KJV)

  15. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. "Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." Gal. 3:24 (Hebrews 8:11 NKJV) Rom. 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

  16. The Immodest Father The Biblical Concept of Modest And Immodest Dress Appropriate Women were the main focus of the admonitions regarding modesty in the New Testament (1 Tim 2:9-10) The Bible stresses that a woman clothes herself in a godly way. Braided hair, expensive jewelry, and expensive clothing is not what makes one modest any more than the removal of the filth from the flesh makes one baptized (1 Pet 3:21). Modesty doesn t have to be expensive and yet, it is very costlyfor women to not be dressed modestly

  17. The Immodest Father The Biblical Concept of Modest And Immodest Dress Appropriate Modest apparel - proper, suitable, appropriate, orderly With Shamefacedness, Propriety (NKJV), regard for others, bashfulness, reverence With Sobriety, Moderation (NKJV)- soundness of mind, soberness, self-control

  18. The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the LORD; So what wisdom do th

  19. The Immodest Father The Biblical Concept of Modest And Immodest Dress Appropriate Immodesty Is not sober-minded Does not concern itself with the thoughts of others, hence is not concerned with the salvation of others Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of anotherman sconscience? (1 Cor 10:29 KJV) Displays an attitude of conformity to the world and it s standard And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom 12:2 KJV) Is Sin!!!!

  20. The Immodest Husband & Father

  21. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is g (Luke 12:48 NKJV)

  22. The Immodest Father Men (Husbands/Fathers) Are to Be Spiritual Leaders The head of woman is man (1 Cor 11:2-3) The Head of the Wife is the Husband (Eph 5:23) The Father is the Head of the Child (Eph 6:4 Cf Heb 12:9) The Leaders of the local church are men Elders (1 Pet 5:2) Evangelist (*Ti 2:15; 1 Tim 4:6,11,15, 5:7,21; 6:2; 2 Tim 2:14). His authority is in and with the word Every christian has some authority that they are subject too (Christ, Government, Husband, Father, Elders, etc) So why is there so much immodesty/indecency among the Lord s people? Men not being men in whatever capacity they are responsible

  23. The Immodest Father Men (Husbands/Fathers) Are to Be Spiritual Leaders There s nothing I can do about It It s either I can t orI won t? There is always an appropriate response to sin, even if that response doesn t produce the needed change Reprove, rebuke, exhortation, chastening, withdrawal, etc Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. (1 Cor 16:13 NAS95) What If I said?_______________What would you do? And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart (Prov 7:10 KJV)
